I found a box of wooden pencils and took for granted that the only wooden pencils anyone ever buys are #2. Turns out, I took the SAT today using a Ticonderoga 2.5 pencil.
Has anyone else ever done this before? Will my test scan properly?
If it doesn't scan and I get a 0 or something, will that affect my chances with colleges later on if they see it??

Your test will scan fine. Take it easy.

oh no that’s it you fail- don’t even think about going to college your test will automatically be scored as a 600 and be sent to every college in the country

I used to work at a test processing center. The reality is that any kind of mark that will keep light from transmitting through the bubble will work.

They dont want you using pens or markers because they bleed through and you cant erase them.

Colored pencils dont work as well to reflect the light.

The softer lead is more to keep from tearing the page by using a harder pencil.
