i had a 3.14 freshman year at the top magnet school in my state, tanked my sophomore year because of an auto immune disease (i explained this on my application) and then transferred to a different school where i had a 3.86 my junior year. i got a 28 on the act twice. i think I’m a pretty well rounded student (varsity sports, community service, coached at the ymca, clubs, job, etc) so should i have a problem getting into auburn university? they have an 81% acceptance rate, most students that enrolled in fall 2016 had 24-30 on act and 3.56-4.15 gpa. are colleges likely to ignore a low gpa when a serious illness was the cause? kinda freaking out here because auburn is my dream school and i feel like I’m floating in no mans land where theres not really any data on whether i will be accepted or not.
Can you ask your guidance counselor to also note the illness on their school report/recommendation? It would help your case.
I am pretty sure you will be fine for auburn. It’s fairly easy to get into.
