I am currently enrolled in the IB program at my school. This just wasn't the program for me as I did poorly in it and ended up with a 2.95 gpa (3.6 weighted :( ). I have a 28 and a 29 (school mandated one without writing) on the act.

I really want to apply for UCSB but I know that I will most likely not get in. Is it worth the time to do the appplication? Realistically what are my chances? What would be some uncompetitive majors that could perhaps allow me to get in?

for UCSB, you get in based on grades, not on what major you choose. not sure if you can get in, but its probably a reach. if you dont get in, you could always go to SBCC, and if you go to school during summers, you could start your sophomore year at UCSB as opposed to your junior year. A girl in my grade is actually graduating high school early to start at sbcc so she can start UCSB earlier. UCSB is really hard to get into these days ebcause everyone wants to go there. Its pretty awesome though
