2 english requirement for ucsb tag

So here's my story . . .

I'm thinking about applying for TAG for UCSB for my major (Chemical Engineering). However, I only have finished 1 English requirement by the end of FALL 2013. The other one will be done on SPRING 2014 (guaranteed)

I have finished 50 UC transferable semester units (7 UC untransferable units) by the end of FALL 2013 and have almost 4.0 GPA so far. All (but 1 recommended) requirement and recommended courses will be done on SPRING 2014.

My question:
-Does someone know anyone who had similar case with me and got approved to UCSB?
-If we already apply for TAG, are we not allowed to apply for the ordinary application for the same college?

Thanks for your help!

I can answer question 2: if you apply for a TAG, you HAVE to apply for regular admission. The TAG is not an application for general admission to the university, just an application for GUARANTEED admission. You still have to apply normally, sending them essays and all that.

Speculation on question 1: if you don’t meet the requirements, you won’t get the TAG. I don’t know this to be objective truth, but I don’t think regulation like this is too flexible.

If DaBadee applies for TAG it will be automatically denied if English is not completed in the Fall same thing for the regular application for admission, however they can appeal it after spring grades have posted and more than likely be accepted.
