I just had two questions that people can probably answer but Dean J may be able to give the most appropriate and accurate answers. Thanks in advance

What is the 25%-75% range of SAT scores for IN STATE students?

What in your opinion are the most important factors in an application?

UVa, to my knowledge, does not publish distinct stats for OOS students vs. IS students. I know some publics do (UNC, Berkeley); however, I feel UVa opts not to so as not to create any type of divide/disharmony between the two groups. This would be counter-productive to the sense of community they’re trying to foster. This is merely speculation on my part, though.

From Notes from Peabody (Dean J’s Blog):
Class of 2014
Middle 50% on the first two parts of the SAT (offers only): 1300-1480
% in the top 10% of their high school class (offers only): 93.8

As far as the most important component of the application, that would be all of it since they read holistically.

Woosah…that SAT middle 50% is for the class as a whole (both IS and OOS), right? They haven’t started separating the IS and OOS stats, have they?

UVAorBust thanks for the College Board stats. Since they wanted the most accurate up to date ones from Dean J I used the ones she posted on the admissions blog. I liked how you used your technology prowess to get to the UVa college board site. Also, I think you should change your location-you need to put out better positive energy right now. It’s not over and no one should ever give up hope-just my 2cents. My best to you over the next few weeks.

You know what, I’m going out on a limb I’m going to be beyond positive, on the brink of arrogance.

PS woosah - using that site does not bring you to College Board. It googles a question for you and allows you to pick which link you would like to view ;)

When I clicked on it and did nothing else it went to google, typed in uva stats on its own and went to the college board page for uva stats automatically, I liked it!

Thanks for changing your location!!! Gave me a woosah moment.
