Is the Unlimited meal plan worth the extra 300 bucks? Do you find the food at the dining halls worth it, because if I spend the money, I would definitely be sticking to the dining halls as much as possible.

How competitive is housing for freshmen? Do I need to submit my deposit and survey like NOW (I already did the survey but not the deposit) to get a [good?] place in Warren Towers? Lol I’d really like a nice view. :P

I don’t find the unlimited plan worth it. After the first semester you get bored with dining hall food. And Warren is pretty easy to get into.

yeah, what nickel said pretty much hits the mark. as a freshman, if you put warren as your first choice, you’ll probably get it

Put down Towers or Hojo as a second choice. If you go to school at like SMG, SED, CAS, ect you don’t want to get stuck in West.

Moxess, it doesn’t really matter when you submit the deposit payment as long as you do it on time. You’ll most likely get Warren, but the room placement is completely random.

take heed of everything nickel says! he is so right! i live in west and am a student in smg! it’s about a 1.2 mile walk everyday! =/

Nickel is a giiiiirl. <3

the 14 plan is 2 meals per day. Where do you guys go for your third?

Ummm, we get plastic bags and steal cereals and fruit from the dining hall and eat it for breakfast the next day.

^ hahaha…makes sense.

Be sneaky. The staff at Towers is stingier than the staff at Warrren. Sometimes the old lady at Towers yells at you for taking a freakn’ bagel. -_- But Warren is twice the size so no one notices. What you do is take fruit and put it in your bag. Or you get a bowl of cereal, pretend to sit down to eat and then put all the cereal in your tupperware. Get a sandwich or burger before you leave, wrap it in nakins, and put it in your bag. Or get take-out.

One time I took 11 oranges at once.

I know, right? I just keep getting the oranges because I eat them like crazy. At one point I had over 20 oranges in my room. I just kept taking them out of the dining hall. My friend has this tupperware shaped like a sandwich:

Like that. And she just keeps taking sandwiches out of the dining hall.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. The Unlimited Plan isn’t worth it. I have the 14 plus one and I think I’ve always had at least one left by the end of the week. You won’t go get three meals a day in the dining hall. You can eat oatmeal, cereal, a granola bar and fruit, etc. in your room for breakfast sometimes…or you can decide to go grab lunch/dinner by using your dining points at the GSU. Or, you can go to one of the other million food places located on/nearby campus. And on top of that, you’ll probably find days that you just skip a meal or are not around too. Anyways, I usually have a couple meals left at the end of each week. I also have a ton of dining points left to spend the next five weeks of school. With a little planning, it works out just fine.

I submitted my housing somewhere in the middle of when it was released and the deadline. I put Warren first and got it. Some of my friends did it the same time and also requested Warren but got West. West wasn’t even on my list because I really didn’t want to be so out of my way from classes. So, I’d suggest leaving off West. I think you’ll be more likely to end up in Warren that way…because that’s where they’ll most likely throw you otherwise.
