I wonder how Stanford would view two supplemental letters from two different people. One letter is my most recent research and the other is about equally interesting but different research… it is otherwise hard to verify but really good research and so I thought it might be a good idea. Also people are sending videos with lots of personal information outside the application… which I am not.
Stanford is quite specific. Note that the emphasis is theirs:

So, I would follow the instructions and send just one. Otherwise what they might think is the thicker the file, the thicker the kid.
Stanford is notorious for NOT wanting extra materials. Follow the instructions, but don’t add more.
How does anyone know? What about the unfair advantage that people with videos?
People with videos have an unfair advantage as they are technically expanding the supplemental materials section. Their videos include tons of extra personal information and images about themselves. I think the one letter supplementla idea is best suited, if you have ONE really good final project or are working in the same field all four years.
A Yale AO spoke at our school and said to follow the instructions exactly as they are written. He added that it is extremely rare for an additional recommendation to add anything to your application. A student asked about an arts teacher who has known her in the classroom as well as in extracurricular activities. The AO said again he doubted that the recommendation would add anything and said that the extra recs usually dilute the application.
