[2] Thread. For people who got 2s.

I noticed a lot of people got 2s this year. YAY! People are on my level. :P

(2012 only)
1. What are your plans? Retest? CLEP exam? Retake the class in college?
---I'm probably CLEPping my 2 this year. The multiple choice was easy, but no one knew what the FRQs meant at all.

What was(were) your 2(s) in? I noticed A LOT of 2s in US Government.
---Mine was in US Government.

Did you expect a 2, or was it a surprise?
---I expected a 1. I guess my Multiple Choice brought it up. A LOT.

If you want to re-answer these questions for other years, please keep them separate from the 2012 answers.

Thanks. :)

I got a 4 in Government.

I got a 2 in AP LIT…not happy. I got a 5 in AP Lang last year… :(

I got an unexpected 2! in U.S. Gov. Who gets a 2 in Gov? haha
I am still not over it. I thought my 2 would be in AP Calc AB and the 4 in Gov. UGH!

I had 3 fives(chem, bio,ES) a 3 in us but got a 2 in ap lang lol. At first i was mad because stupid people( they failed APES) got 3s but i suck at spelling so i got over it.

My sister got a 2 in US Govt. She’s a freshmen and although I tried to show her how to prepare for APs, she couldn’t get the hang of it quick enough, at least not until the last 2 weeks before the test and she tried to study.

She was devastated. But we both discussed w/ my mother and decided that it’s a learning experience (thats how I learned. Went from a 1 in APUSH during sophomore year in a suckish school to a 4, 4 and 5 in an awesome school during junior year) and hopefully she can use her bad experience to make her sophomore (WHAP) a lot better.

Point of the story: Use the bad experience as a learning experience. And if you’d like, you can cancel your bad score. Hope this makes people feel better.

I got two 2s last year and I’m hoping not to qualify for this thread this year…

Last year I got a 2 in Gov and in English Lit…

It’s ok though, 2s are better than 1s. I just always am sad because I want to know how far away I was from a 3. Life goes on though. I was pretty bummed when it came to admissions because for a couple apps I had to list scores for any tests taken…but I got accepted everywhere I applied (I didn’t apply to any top notch schools though…just some decent publics and privates so it’s not really all that great…) so I guess it ended up ok.

Best of luck to you next year.

Got a 2 in AP Chemistry.

To be honest, I didn’t do anything in class and had no interest in chemistry as a whole. I ended up cramming for the tests and lacked many fundamentals, like memorizing the solubility chart.
I’d be upset but, to be honest, I never studied or did anything that would warrant anything above a 2. I got 5’s on my other 4 APs anyway.

Ok I didn’t study squat for the human geo exam in my freshman year, and I still got a 2. A 1 is like impossible, unless your taking some language exam that you don’t know how to speak/read.

Nothing at this point since I’ve already graduated and will be taking German to fulfill both language and major requirements anyway.

Spanish Language (non-native)

I was expecting a 3, honestly. I knew I probably didn’t do so great at the MC (especially listening), but I guess I sucked at the speaking on top of that. I was stuttering a lot but thought I at least did well enough to pass both the speaking parts since I completed the prompts as they instructed.

Now I feel terrible. My AP Spanish teacher was by far my favorite teacher through my high school years, I had her for three years and I know she was confident that I’d at least pass. I feel like I completely let her down. I was thinking of going back and visiting her before leaving for college, but now I don’t think I’d be able to look her in the eye…I dunno, maybe I’m overreacting. In any case though I’m far more upset about it than my mom is.

I got a 2 on Calc Bc and Ab. I know thats sad based on cc and the 5 percentages, but bear in mind that I Went( happily transferring) to a small school in wv with an extremely poor ap record. Bc was a self study, and I had to take the late exam, which went terribly. Next year(Junior Year), with the in person class and a retake it should definitely be a 5. Personally I’m not worried, I’m just enjoying my three 4’s and my 3. For perspective, that 3 was in chem, and it was the first ap Science class anyone in my school’s history has ever passed. When looking at it that way, just passing was a five for me. (Still may retake it as well though, haha) Long story short, I’m fine with both my 2 and 3. For my sophomore year, its certainly not debilitating, and even with a 2, I’ll still enjoy my Ap scholar with Honor.

I got twice the negative reciprocal of -1 on AP Psych. I thought I aced it though! I knew everything about imprinting, deontology, the medulla, and teleology!!!

I also got sin(2pi) on AP Calc AB. I think that was because I left the entire m/c and FRQ section blank. I was really tired that day and I had just broken up with my long-term other so I didn’t feel like doing anything. Plus, the table was really comfortable. I poked a little hole into the plastic wrapping around my free-response booklet, blew some air inside, and sealed the hole using an AP number label. It made a perfect pillow.

I got the limit as x goes to 0 of sin(x) over x on AP Stat. I thought I aced Stat though! I had memorized the equation for t-tests, the standard deviation formula, and the ENTIRE DEGREES OF FREEDOM TABLE. I also studied the double angle formula, hyperbolas, and L’Hopital’s rule for Stat. I am very disappointed in myself :(.

I know for Stat I am going to have it regraded. I might also plan on taking the CLEP test later for Calc because I want/need Calc credit (I heard freshman calc is hell at my local state college). Fortunately my parents support my efforts 100% and aren’t too mad about having to pay for another round of testing. Hopefully I will be successful. I know I can :)!

@dirkslam41 A 1 is impossible? Tell that to the 53 people who got ones in AP Euro at my school last year.

That reminds me. I got a one in AP Euro last year. I had memorized all the dates: 1649 - Treaty of Westphalia, etc., but I just couldn’t do well on the exam. The free-response questions were too vague and there was just so much to write about that my head hurt just thinking about what to write. I also had back pains that day and my teacher told me he knew I wouldn’t pass so I just put my head down and went to sleep. I’m just too dumb to get more than a one. Even my friends who Christmas-tree’d the exam got 2s and 3s. I guess it takes a certain level of apathy to get a one.

But I think I did better on APUSH this year. I read the book twice before the exam and I also got Cs and Bs on the essays all year so I should at least get a 2, or 3, right? My college actually accepts 2s for a half-credit toward the one history credit we need in history. So hopefully I’ll get a 2.

IceQube: Your Stats memorisation was either stuff given on the exam or stuff that’s never tested…

Got a 2 on physics b. Expected a 1 tho so im kinda surprised. I literally had the worst teacher ever, my school does 45min classes and for the first 15mins of almost every single class the teacher just sat at his computer looking at his emails while we just talked. By the end of the year I think we learned about half of all the material. We got through Newtonian mechanics, fluids, a tiny tiny bit of optics (like we didn’t even get to any formulas in it), and some electricity. No magnetism, no thermo, no nuclear physics, no capacitors, etc. For a lot of the free response I wrote song lyrics and drew butterflies. Plus my college doesn’t give credit for physics b so I felt no initiative to even study for it

Icecube what are you talking about, those terms weren’t even on this years test.

I got a 2 in Literature. Extremely disappointing, considering I got a 4 in Lang last year and actually felt better about this exam than lang. I wrote some killer essays too. Oh well. I’m an IB student so hopefully my IB literature exam makes up for it.

I’m worried about my scores! is it ever worth it to retest?

I got a 2 in Calc AB… This is my senior year, and I won’t be doing anything about it haha…

I got a 2 in AP world history my sophomore year not worth everything. Haven’t taken any more AP classes. So now I’m in IB! Much better! Harder class tho!
