I'm a sophomore chemE at purdue... had to withdraw from one course already. I fear that if I don't withdraw from orgo, I will get a D or fail. What do you guys think?

Current Schedule
Multivariate Calculus
Material & Energy Balances
Electricity & Magnetism - Withdrew
Organic Chemistry 1 - Thinking to withdraw
Organic Chemistry 1 Lab
Microeconomics

Is 2 withdrawals over the course of my 4 years that bad? I know it's not bad spaced out, but 2 in 1 semester?

If all goes well I'll be getting atleast a 3.7 the next 5 semesters.. I've found out how to manage my time well, and not waste it. Basically I've given up my social life at this point.. just bodybuilding and good grades are what matter.

If failing the course is a serious possibility, drop it. The important thing is to be realistic. You never want to be in a situation where you have to do well on the final just to get a mere passing grade.

Well if it's too late to drop the course, I've decided to fail it, because when you retake the course, they replace the grade with whatever you get. The only thing is, that F doesn't come off the transcript.

Besides, it's orgo, that's totally useless for chemE majors.. as long as it wasn't in a course like thermo or material/energy balances it's not THAT bad is it?

what about if u withdrew from it wnd took it again, would the W show on the transcript? I mean if the F doesn't show I see no reason why a w would show

The W stays also. I'm currently in a similar situation for EE201 (100 on Exam 1, 44 *** on Exam 2). I've decided to man up and finish the course and if I end up with less than a B, attempt to beg the ECE department to let me retake it.

Why would you retake it? If you pass, move on to the next course. There are too many courses to finish in engineering for you to retake ones you've already passed.
