i took the act my junior year and got a 20, taking it again my senior year (this year c/o 2012)
english 18
math 17
reading 23
science 21

those who have gotten a 23 or higher on the act please tell me your method on getting these score i would like to get a 27 for a full ride scholarship at my college of choice (famu) eventhough they have scholarships for 23 and above a 27 will help pay for..EVERYTHING and also give me a 500 stipend...

Agree with above; just keep redoing tests. Once you seem to be able to average the desired score for a section, concentrate on other sections. Good luck :)

I would concentrate on studying for math. The other stuff is kind of hard to study for.

Brush up on your algebra and geometry, by doing practice tests.

It is hard to study for English and reading.

Also, I would go to an organized prep course, even though it costs money.

It will FORCE you to study hard.

If you try and do it yourself, you will no doubt goof off too much, like we all do.

For example, down here in Boca, there is a guy who does kind of a last minute cram course, where you can go to three of his classes for a few hundred dollars. Yes, you could probably do the same study on your own, but you probably won’t.

Personally I think English is the easiest section to study for. If you get all the questions about commas correct you should do pretty well, so learn everything about commas.
