200 Point Increase

Can someone explain this 200 point increase thing that if u do in fact increase ur score by 200 they keep your scores for a little while longer?

I think it's actually 350 increase.

why do they do that

anybody know why?

'Cause most people who raise their scores by such astronomical numbers are probably cheating.

Like they look at the answers of people around you(and incorrect answers) in the chair that you sat in to see if you have similar answers to them. They check to make sure that the handwriting is consistent.

A 350 point increase in the composite score or in an individual section? Which increase makes them suspicious?

A 350 section increase would be flagged FOR SURE. As for someone going from a 1900 to a 2250, not too much of a big deal. That could easily be someone getting 3-4 more questions right on Math to go from a 700 to a 770 and studying some vocab in the summer to go from 600 to a 730 in CR, and then just getting lucky on the Writing section, or just studying all the rules.

50 point increase would probably be flagged. 100 point almost definitely. 200 point, you're not getting your scores for another month or two.

50 points most assuredly would not be flagged...nor would 100 points.

Codered20 doesn't know what he's talking about...

Yeah, I just made that up.

were not dumb you know...

Someone said in a different thread that they're usually flagged if you get a 250 point jump in M+CR, or 350 jump altogether

You mean "We're not dumb. . ."

haha i'm just kidding, it's cool. I know you guys aren't dumb, I was just tired last night and decided to make an awesome post, and I think I achieved that goal.

But yeah I guess if you have a huge jump in the same year, they might double-check your scores.

wait.. the first time i took it, i did horrible. And that was in january. I think i did pretty well on this june test, which i studied my butt off for. I'm thinking at least a 500 point increase... what does that mean?

And that means there is a chance your scores could get delayed Topick. I've never actually heard of anybody who this has actually happened to, but it's the word on CC. Hopefully they're not delayed, but if they are, at least you know that it's almost definitely cause you did really well. Good luck though man.

^ Like he said. You made sure you had the test center code right on the back of your answer sheet, right? :)

yep! thanks codered20 and butternut
i really hope its not delayed =(

a 210 point increase in 2 months and didn't have any problem with my score. No delays, got my score on time as others.
