one of my friend's AP USH teacher attempts to predict the DBQ/free response every year of the APUSH test and does a pretty well job in getting them correct (she rarely ever misses the DBQ). She looks for the loopholes and events not discussed in the exam from previous years' tests all the way to the economic/social plateau of the questions.

Well, my question is this: anyone have any prediction topics on the free response/ DBQ THIS YEAR for AP united states history (2005) ???
PLEASE dont post something irrelevant/not likely going to happen, i'm trying to help all of us apush'ers!! =)

The teacher said it was more than likely going to be social/cultural effects of something. Just checking if anyone is as crazy as that teacher, thanks!

my teacher thinks (not sure if DBQ or free) one will be on immigration. I guess at some meeting a few years ago they said it would be on immigration and it happened yet so he thinks this will be the year. There's also never been anything on the 70's for a while so that might happen.

what would you guys most dread being asked about? For me its probably the Cold War... Its seems i completely zoned out during a review of a very important and very RECEnt part of our history

Early colonial America, 1900-1980 with exception of WWI, WWII, and Cold War. Remember lots of residual stuff from Euro and World. But I just spaced out that whole time...I hope its on Reconstruction or something.

Yeah maybe something on Civil War/Gilded Age/Progressives/WWI or II/Cold War. It won't be on colonial America. Maybe on women rights or the progression of Black civil rights after or before or after AND before Civil War? =

How do you guys go about answering the free response and DBQ sections? Our class didn't really go too much into that.

Any tips would be helpful as I have no idea what expect or how to answer those questions, is there any specific method or strategy that you guys have?

I barely remember last years but I did take it and it did focus on a lot about colonial times. Wow, it seems so far back.

FR I remember I chose one with the New Deal and another with the Civil War? Don't quite remember. You can probably find the past AP questions. As long as you're prepared, you really don't need to "predict"

No, they don't announce them, itis pure speculation based on what has not been covered in a while. A common prediction for this eyar deals with minorities, maybe af-am.

one of the teachers at my school is part of a group of teachers who have been accuratley predicting the DBQ for the past 10 years. However tthe college board previously gave an approximated 50 year gap in which the DBQ could be found. THis year they are not doing that so i do not know how accurate her prediction is. She says :
