What's the essay question?
I don't don't want to/ don't know how to turn my pop-up blocker off, and it says I need to turn it off to do the application. Somebody PLEASE post what the essay question is, not a link to a page that says it. PLEASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE.

The questions haven't changed from last year. From a previous post of mine:

The year's short-answer topics were:

Limiting yourself to the space provided, briefly describe which single activity/interest listed represents your most meaningful commitment and why.

List and describe your activities, including jobs, during the past two summers.

Please tell us what you find most appealing about Columbia and why.

For applicants to Fu, please tell us what attracts you specifically to the study of engineering.

And the essay:

Write an essay which conveys to the reader a sense of who you are. Possible topics may include, but are not limited to, experiences which have shaped your life, the circumstances of your upbringing, your most meaningful intellectual achievement, the way you see the world -- the people in it, events great and small, everyday life -- or any personal theme which appeals to your imagination.

I was so disappointed by the application. There aren't any real short answer questions and they limit you to one essay. I couldn't believe that they actually wrote that they'd prefer not to see supplementary essays.

You can send in CD's. That is allowed. You send them to the admissions office and they will get forwarded to the music department for evaluation.

I sent a supplementary essay last year--I don't know if it helped or hurt though, but I really liked it, and it didn't fit anywhere else, so I just tacked it on to the end.

Agreed. When you apply, this is your chance to show that you have done your research on the school and can demonstrate why you want to come to Columbia. It is one of only 2 places that you can truly express yourself.
