<p>anyone know what happened? i was watching tv and they said something about the subsidies to college loan companies. anyone knows exactly wat happned? i know that the pell grant was increased from 4500 to 5400</p>
<p>Where did you here this about the Pell grant? I had heard a week or so ago that it might be increased by around $300 from the current max which is $4050. $5400 would be quite a jump. Sounds almost too good to be true but i hope it is!!!!!</p>

<p>Thanks for the link - I had been trying to find this info without success. I notice that they are increasing Pell but getting rid of SEOG - which seems detrimental to the most needy students out there. Or maybe will just give with one hand and take away with the other. Although we don't qualify for SEOG I am worried that this will be bad for the most needy students.</p>
<p>Isn't SEOG one of the only grants available to grad students? Is it going to be gone completely or only for UG?</p>
<p>On the proposed budget on the link above it showed it as gone in 2008. I don't think it was ever available to grad students though.</p>
