As everyone gets their final decisions, please contribute to this thread by replying in the following format. It is extremely helpful for next year's transfer applicants to get an idea of what type of student is admitted to schools of interest, and I'm sure many of us would like to know how others are doing as well. P.S. Please be specific in the schools you applied to - i.e. UPenn Wharton/CAS/etc. instead of just UPenn.

Suggestions for Wharton applicants: Apply as a sophomore transfer. I had completed all of my prereqs (even statistics with a calculus prerequisite) and had a great reason for transferring. I had shown alot of leadership in my essays. They specifically note they have very little room for junior transfers. They weren't kidding.

Check and double check that you have everything in; start everything early - it's a long, arduous, complicated process. Also - aim high, slightly lower, and low - you never know what will happen. I never thought I'd get into Barnard; I thought it was a waste of money, with a 3.4. (Their rate is, what, 26%? which is, as my father would say, nothing to sneeze at.)

Also, know that even if you obsess about it for years, getting it may not feel as good as you'd imagined at first. But it will! (Or maybe everyone else isn't as emo as I am and won't burst into happy tears upon receiving the letter, then tragic hysterics a minute later :))

Current School: Boston University
Entering as: Sophomore
High School GPA: 4.42, weighted
College GPA: 3.85

Applied to: Harvard, Cornell, Chicago
Accepted: Chicago
Waitlisted: n/a
Rejected: Harvard, Cornell

Likely Attending: Depending on financial aid (I get need-based, so it'll hopefully transfer along with me), Chicago. I applied to Harvard, as I did my senior year, before I had an epiphany that it wasn't the right place for me, so I wasn't disheartened in the least when they said no. Cornell would have been nice, but to be honest, its proximity to the girlfriend would have probably been one of the best things going for it, for me. Thus, I'm terrifically satisfied with my situation -- I feel that, out of the three I applied to, I'll get the best education/fit at Chicago. And this way, I don't have to explain to my lover why I chose 700 miles away over 50 miles away.

Applied to: Cornell AEM, NYU Stern, USC Marshall
Accepted: NYU Stern
Waitlisted: N/A
Rejected: Cornell AEM
Pending: USC Marshall (I'm thinking I'll get in)

Likely Attending: Staying where I am right now, reapplying to Cornell.

I recommend seriously completing any prerequisites the school you are transferring to asks for. That really screwed me over with CALS at Cornell.
