A bit of a culture clash here. I am in Canada; my S goes to school in the US. In Canada no one gives a fig what university you went to. This very site and many of the posts in this thread and others stand for the proposition that in the US it is profoundly different.

out of curiousity, if, in Canada, it doesn't matter what school you attend, why is your S attending a school in the US?

Canada????

I know a doctor from Canada and he is a proud graduate of Queens. He said it was the Canadian Yale.

What's the Canadian Skidmore?

or Canadian Lehigh?

lol... Skidmore......

Can I please get the engineering ranking for RPI and the industrial engineering ranking for it?

Thanks

Here's another person with extensive familiarity with both sides of the US/Canada border (father from US, Mother from Canada, I have degrees from both countries--including U of Toronto) who agrees with those who say the university a Canadian gets his/her degree from is not nearly as important as it is for people in the US.

One Canadian school that gets no play on collegeconfidential is the University of Windsor, in Windsor, Ontario, right across from Detroit. Check it out. Windsor is a very nice and interesting city, and has a beautiful view of Detroit across the river. Some say that Windsor has more strippers per capita than any city in North America. And a lot of them go to college...

Is there also a ranking for liberal arts MAJORS (English specifically) for universities? If so, can someone please by kind enough and post it? Thanks! :)

I really think when it comes to SUNYs, rankings should never be a factor. they are SUNYs, preference should be by academic strengths, location, and campus I mean, so long as your looking at the four cornerstone schools (Albany, Buffalo, Stony, & Binghm) or Geneseo (Honors)... anyways the rankings for SUNYs:
