LOL I remember when we got that very first piece of college mail back when daughter was a freshman....yep, from Wash U-St. Louis. We felt so "privileged" that they would send it to HER. :) :) Little did we know! Her bubble has since been burst many times over.

Great had posted:

And yes, college mail has reappeared in our mailbox too. I had to laugh because the first piece of mail was from.... you guessed it.... Washington University-St. Louis. Probably not the last mailing from them we'll see

:( It doesn't seem right to me that some schools knowingly refrain from passing out scores, despite the anxiety of the students. I've been waiting since the last week of November to get my scores. Can anyone confirm the Dec. 15 online score posting?

vernon p horn: Unless it's changed recently, they want you to take the SAT. Why would they want to use the competition's test to validate their test?

Rationaldad, interesting name. I doubt very seriously you are a dad because grown men do not post as you have, and you're certainly not very rational

. Making un provoked attacks towards a mom is rude and attacking her kids is beyond the pale

Uggh, perhaps there are other sites you could visit.

RationalDad: since you are new here, (unless your name is an alias), I'll try to explain nicely.

We try to be polite, caring, and well, nice here on the parent forum. Try to set a good example for the high schoolers who tend to be more in-your-face. We don't always succeed but we at least try to start off on the right foot. As all our mothers used to say, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

So for one thing, "Actually no one cares" was not a nice thing to say.

And for another, I would disagree with your conclusion that if a 7th grader takes the SAT, he/she's not well-rounded. Not true at all, in my experience. YMMV.

You're right. He's not posting like a grown-up man.

I was invited to take the Duke TIP test, and I declined... I had no idea what that was at the time, and I guess my parents didn't know either. Oh well.

At our junior high school, all of the kids in the highest level of English were encouraged to take the test in 7th or 8th grade. It wasn't for any future academic purpose; I think the teachers wanted to see something measurable as an endorsement of the gifted program in grades 1-6. The scores are thrown out by College Board, so they really have very little use.

D2 just got her scores back - a substantial improvement from 10th grade, when she didn't even finish the sections. But mysteriously, her booklet was not returned. SHould I be concerned ??
