2008 tax return?

<p>I filed my FAFSA early and I have recieved FA packages form schools already.</p>

<p>Heres the thing - when I filed the FAFSA my parents hadn't filed their 2008 tax return yet so I used the 2007 one as a base.</p>

<p>Problem is, my FA package isn't enough and it turns out my parents made a whole $10,000 less in 2008 than they did in 2007. (It went from 50,000 for a family of four to 40.)</p>

<p>My parents are also dealing with another 80k in debt already. :|</p>

<p>I definitely need to appeal/refile. Does anyone know the process of doing so?</p>

<p>Its a local school school - Would it be a good idea for me to call them and ask them to set up an appointment to go over my FA package?</p>

<p>Just go in and update your FAFSA. Then contact your schools to let them know you now have final income numbers and would like them to relook at the data.</p>
