Jay-- be sure to check your junk box, and if you could, let me know if you get anything... My SPAM is autodeleted before it even gets to me.

ICFIREBALL: I received notification that I have been selected as a finalist. I got the email just a few minutes after you posted the last message on the bulletin board. Have you heard anything? Let me know

Yes, I got notification as well. I didn't get it until this morning when I checked (although it was was sent/received at ~12:30am). Congrats!

50/50 odds! Pretty cool.

I got an email over the weekend informing me that I was not a finalist, but to my surprise, I received another yesterday appologizing for the first, and informing me that I am in fact a finalist. Did this happen to anyone else?

Hey everyone, I own a Landscape Business in my town and a Printer Ink Business on Amazon.com called WondorusThings. Page 1. I was originally turned down. I was shocked, but then realized that I never told the McKelvey Foundation about my second business, the Printer Ink Business. I called up and left a message, then got an email back saying that they will look into my application. Then I wrote a pretty long email explaining about my second business. Later on that day, I got an email confirming that I was eligible to be a finalist.

I had my interview today. The whole thing is tailored to you and your application. The woman I had interview me was very nice and asked me a few questions. I brought up a lot too, and you have a chance to ask your own questions. Good luck to everyone!

That was actually very helpful. Now I have at least a little better understanding of what will be asked than "you, your business, and your future plans".... Thanks!

My interview is supposed to be within this hour... nervous!

When are we notified of receiving the scholarship or not?

is what my interviewer said

Oh yea, no problem. I had asked the kid who originally called me about whether or not I had any questions. I wasn't sure if the interviewer was going to know anything about me. Yea I had the same timeframe as you when I had my interview and it ended up being at like 4:50 or so. As for when we find out, I'm really not sure. I thought I heard or saw the date March 20th. I could be wrong though I'm really not sure. Anyway's good luck.

"Final notifications of scholarship awards will be send by March 20th." This was in the email sent my the McKelvey Foundation, unless they changed the date.

what kinds of business's do you guys have going?!
Websites?

I have a Landscape Business and a Printer Ink Business. Page 1 and my printer ink business is on Amazon.com. The store name is WondorusThings. How about you?

I run a kids bar, we set up at teen parties like bar/bat mitzvahs, big birthday parties, graduations, sweet 16's... our website is ..:: Welcome To The Slime Bar ::..

Let me know if you have any questions... what does everyone else do?

ok, I had my interview! I think it went pretty well. I was only asked a couple questions and I answered them. Interview was very short. Did everyone else have a short interview? Did they give you any sort of feedback?

hey guys,
I am a finalist but i was wondering how the interviewer sounded on your interviews. When i had my interview, i was shaking like crazy, and super nervous and I felt like my interviewer could feel my voice tremble. My interview was 25 minutes long and I was stumbling over my words. :( i'm so depressed and scared I wont get this scholarship ( and I desperately need it to help me pay for college).

I wouldn't worry about it... mine took all of 6 minutes, including an accidental hang-up (soooo embarrassing) & I felt like i was noticably nervous as well. The fact that yours was so long is probably a good sign. Hopefully we'll hear soon... I feel like everything I do these days has a unbearable wait that follows! (college, scholarships, internships...) Good luck to everyone!

Mine was very short as well, but there was no apparent way that it could have lasted longer. The questions that I was asked required short answers... there wasn't a lot of room for me to talk about other things in addition to my business. I had the impression that it went well, but only time will tell.

hey guys! I work with the Future CEO Stars Magazine and they very interested in featuring young entrepreneurs stories in their magazines! This is all free of charge, and you get a full page cover your story. This is a great opportunity to look great on your resum

Mine was about twenty minutes, and it was okay. We'll find out soon enough! Good luck!
