2009 PSAT Scores and Discussion

bluedabudi: thanks! I still did a lot better than I thought I would though. I thought I got wrecked by the sentence completion sections

My school actually gave us back our scores today…they normally wait until the last week in December.

Critical Reading: 45/48 (omitted 0) = 74

Math: 36/ 38 (omitted 0) = 75

Writing: 36/39 (omitted 0) = 70

Total: 219

Actually happy considering my state’s cutoff is always a 201 or 202. Good luck to everyone else still waiting

@vince

how did u get -3 raw score in writing by omitting nothing?

^ Which form is that for, Vince?

WeDnEsDaY oR sAtUrDaY?

yeah mabs i just realized that too… does a -2.5 go to a -3? cause thats what I thought untill like yesterday.

Same with CR…

Two incorrect (as opposed to omitted, except for free response Math questions) rounds up to -2 raw.

I’m pretty sure -2.5 rounds up to -2. So if you missed 2 questions and omitted none, you would get a -2.5,but in actuality it’s a -2. So out of 39 for writing you would get a 37.

^^^ i think he just means he missed three questions. he just posted how many he missed, not raw score.

Based on the curve it looks like Vince took Form S (I think?). It seems -4 and not -2 was a 70 in writing, which makes a lot more sense.

Re-asking because I’m desperate:

Did anyone miss 2 Writing questions on Form W and get their score?

monstor if that is true then awsome. I know im borderline 220/216 most likely and need all the points I can get. Hopefully Illinois stays down in the 213-215 range its been in for the past couple years. Oh how I envy the states like alaska where only HUNDREDS of people took the test or so and to get semi-finalist is nearly granted if you are commended. It really is astonishing that Montana had around 3000 people while other states, maybe even smaller states like delaware, have around 15000-20000 taking the test. Is there ANY motivation whatsoever in these kind of states?.. haha didnt expect to start raging… myyy badddd

But I dont believe missing three questions (-4 raw score) is 70. Someone told me it was 68

I wonder whether my school handed the reports out today when I was absent. At least, then, I’ll get them tomorrow.

VINCE!!! you have to do better than that lol, your post does not make any sense.
