PSAT 2009 Form S (Scores and Curve Discussion)

So has anyone received his/her score for Form S yet?

You’ll find some curve information and answer discussion here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/813257-2009-psat-scores-discussion.html</a>.

It’s a good idea, though, to give it an exclusive home.

Yeah, it will be good to separate the curve from the main thread.

Let’s try to fill in the missing spaces:

Yeah I’m curious about this as well.
Especially the writing curve.

this chat is dead untill someone gets some real scores…

I removed the 70 for W. It doesn’t seem right. If someone can corroborate it, feel free to post it again.

You removed the Writing but you didnt remove the CR??? The points drop 1 with every raw score!!! I have never seen that in any practice test/book… ever. A 44 as a 74? more like a 71/72

^ 1253729 got the 74 from his/her own score.

^ Maybe his score report had a typographical error. :)

haha im starting to wonder if I should even keep up with these 2 post seeing how nothing seems to add up. yeaaahhhh but i probably still will check every 20 min… SOMEONE BETTER GET THEIR REAL SCORES FOR FORM S TOMORROW!

I promise you guys that -4 on CR=74 for Form S. “Typo” explains this entire curve mess pretty well lol.

i agree that the 70 is weird, but i am positive that it is what i received. many of the other scores have yet to be verified by someone else, there is no reason to discount it yet (unless someone else posts something in contradiction with it). unless there was an error with my score report, two wrong on the writing receives a 70

Wierd curves this year. The Math Form W curve was generous to an extent never seen before, the Writing Form W curve has a huge jump (-1 is 78; -2 is 73), and the Writing Form S curve is brutal (-2 is 70).

Can’t help on CR, -0, 80.
Math, 32/38 (2 omit, 3 stupid mistakes) = 67
Writing, 35/39 (3 wrong) = 68

Alright, so a raw score of 37 on the writing section yields a 70.
And a raw score of 35 yields a 68.
Am I the only one that thinks that makes NO sense?

The College Board’s got to do what it needs to in order to establish its bell curve.
