I don’t think Ingram or Richardson will win it. Ingram is only the 56th leading rusher in the country and Richardson is 36th and with them splitting carries neither will get close to the numbers needed to win.

Denard Robinson is the clear front runner, he’s having a statistically crazy season. If he keeps it up he’ll win for sure.

Pryor might still win, if Robinson has a weak day vs Ohio State’s defense while Pryor has a big day against Michigan’s defense.

The SEC’s best hope is if Cam Newton helps Auburn go undefeated and has a big day against Alabama - that would grab people’s attention.

Neither of them deserve it, nor will either of them finish in the top 5. Richardson won’t even be in any discussion for the trophy.

Denard Robinson is the best athlete in college and is getting a lot of Heisman hype right now, but to win the Heisman, you need to be in the NC picture (otherwise Suh or Gerhart would have won it last year). Michigan will lose games because of their defense. They are relying on Robinson to bail them out every week. If Robinson is able to be contained at all by any decent opponent (MSU, tOSU, Iowa, Wisc), then Michigan will lose. Michigan is a bad team with an outstanding playmaker at QB.

I’m not completely sold on Auburn just yet, even though those wins over Clemson and South Carolina do look good. If Auburn beats Bama and goes to the SEC championship game, then Newton wins the Heisman because those pundits on ESPN will give him the media bump because he plays in the over rated SEC.

My prediction that LaMichael James will win the Heisman should turn out to be true if Oregon doesn’t slip up away from Autzen vs. an inferior opponent.

On a side note, the Ducks are the most exciting team to watch in football. Pac 10 football provides great entertainment value.

Care to elaborate? UM won that game because ND’s only QB that can complete a pass missed nearly the entire 1st half. They were playing Joe Montana’s son-- a guy that didn’t even start in HIGH SCHOOL! ND outscored UM something like 24-3 in the 2nd half with ND’s starting QB, Dayne Crist, back in the game. ND is 2 freak plays away from being 4-1 right now.

Northwestern has had twice as many consensus all-Americans in the last fifteen years than Notre Dame has had. Northwestern.

Mchgan won 1 game against a Big Ten team last year. Indiana, finishing 6-7 overall. They started the season 4-0, their fourth victory against Indiana. This season has a similar start so far. Funny how quick Forcier was heralded as the next great one a year ago and now he got dumped and everyone is all over Robinson.

Notre Dame finished 6-6.

Neither team went bowling. Both teams are in some of the worst times in the history of the respective programs.

The fact that they had a close game with each other speaks volumes on how bad both of them are.

I didn’t think Alabama will lose a regular season game…until I saw this.

Alabama’s rest of the schedule:

South Carolina (has bye week right before playing Alabama)
Ole Miss (has bye week right before playing Alabama)
Tennessee (has bye week right before playing Alabama)
bye
LSU (has bye week right before playing Alabama)
Mississippi State(has bye week right before playing Alabama)
Georgia State (has bye week right before playing Alabama)
Auburn (has bye week right before playing Alabama)

This means EVERY team that Alabama plays from now on has about 2 weeks to rest, study, and prepare to knock off the top dog.
ALL SEVEN OF THEM.
Now, I realize that Alabama is probably the best team in the country, let alone SEC.
Some schools like Georgia State probably doesn’t stand a chance even with extra week.
But we see time and time again that when you’re a physical team like Alabama, you will get banged up as season goes on, and when you are banged up, even good teams can fall to much inferior teams (Alabama almost did to Tennessee last year)
I mean talk about strength of schedule… does it get any harder than to play fresh teams back to back to back to back to back to back to back?
I REALLY thought Alabama would go 12-0 again, but after finding out about this, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them lose.

Bye weeks are overrated in college. A lot of times the teams lose focus with an off week and aren’t as prepared as they should be. The prospect of playing Alabama could help them keep focus though.

The good news for Alabama is that only a few of those teams are particularly good.

Honestly, the only teams only Alabama’s schedule that have a serious shot of winning are USC and Auburn in my opinion. A bye week might give these two an advantage because they play very physical football. I don’t think the other teams on Bama’s schedule have the talent to win, and an extra week of preparation can’t fix that.

P.S. Any thoughts on the FL-LSU game? As much as it pains me to say, I’m rooting for FL and expecting them to dominate LSU.

Even though 'Bama is favored in all their remaining games there’s absolutely no guarantee that they’ll actually go undefeated. In fact it’s really more likely that they’ll finish with one loss than none.

As someone who watched year after year as USC had great, national title caliber teams that got tripped up against an opponent that they “shouldn’t have”. Sometimes underdog teams just have a better day or put that extra out on the field for the big game. It’s just the way the sport of football is.

Also: Taylor Martinez looked unstoppable against Kansas State. I used to think Nebraska was a Top 15 team due to their anemic offense from last year carrying over, but Martinez really put a spark in them. Top 5 team by the looks of last night. I think Taylor Martinez wins the Heisman if Nebraska wins the Big 12.

UT is doing absolute crap and I’m tired of people making excuses that its a “rebuilding year”. Glad this week is a bi-week so I don’t need to cry when we lose against Nebraska.

Do you ever check out shaggybevo.com? They’re in meltdown mode.

On the whole, I like the Texas fanbase and the I think the folks at shaggybevo are colorful, to say the least.

My opinion of Texas’ athletic department on the whole, however, is that there is a special ring of hell reserved for them. DeLoss Dodds is a prick.

And Bama goes down! I love it. Oregon vs. Auburn in the NC game. There goes Ingram’s Heisman hopes; and speaking of Heisman hopes, Robinson’s Heisman hopes are gone after he threw 3 picks as Michigan gets blasted by Sparty.

Denard Robinson…2nd coming of Tate Forcier.
And BAMA, it was only a matter of time before you lost.
You can’t replace all those talents on defense just like that.
Ask Southern Cal for that.
