2010 AP United States History Discussion

I feel like that’s what happened to me too, but I’m the only one freaking out about it?..

I used crash course too. : D Best prep book ever.

That test was scary easy. Expecting a 6 come July.

43 correct and 4s on the essays is indeed a 4, but that’s assuming that you only answered 43 of the questions, if you answered them all and missed the other 37, then it is a 3 as you would expect

I got a lot of help from reviewing this thread at midnight yesterday, haha. Are we not allowed to ever discuss the MC, right?

and for whoever was asking about having 3 things out of the time period, that is likely to hurt your score, but you still have an okay chance at a decent grade if those 3 things were not your main arguments

we are not allowed to until they release the test several years from now (they release them every 5 years, not sure when the next year they release them is)

I don’t think we’re EVER allowed to talk about them. The next released exam will be the 2013 one…

@ tech

Damn, I’m so dumb. I totally didnt think about the time constraint -_-. Those examples were towards the beginning of my essay… they related to the ones within the time period… which where the main ones that I talked about too because what I wrote about had to do before and during the time period. Can I expect a 5/9?

Oh wow, 5 years?! What about the FRQs? 48 hours?

@Alleviate
If your main arguments are within the time period, and it was an otherwise good essay, a 5 might be high to expect, but I am not really sure. I could ask my teacher who is one of the essay readers on monday or something.

@sciencefrenchie
you’re probably right, but I thought they released all 5 tests when the 5 years was up. is this not the case?

Say you can’t spell to save your life… Would spelling a few words wrong here and there hurt your score?

I thought they just released the one every 5 years… Does anyone know?

AP test essays are graded as rough drafts. Spelling (as long as the reader can tell what you meant), crossing things out, drawing arrows etc don’t count against you

@Tech

Alright, that’d be good. What grade can one expect on the DBQ if there was a good analysis but only 2 crappy-obvious-butstilloutsideinfo. That DBQ screwed me over -_-… definitely my worse time period lol

Yep, 48 hours until we can stop being vague about the essays.

First thought upon opening up the DBQ: Aw CRAP.

Free Response #1: Killed it. Lit it up.

Free Response #2: Not as much factual info and more fluff, but still pretty good.

MC: Not bad at all. Answered all of them except for a couple and I only know of a couple that I got wrong.

I had taken 3 practice tests before this and made 5s on all of them (considering that I made straight 5s on the essays). Feeling good, I must say. 4 or 5.

@sciencefrenchie
I don’t know, but unless this test is ever released, we can’t talk about the multiple choice. The reason is that they actually reuse some of the questions from year to year

I don’t know about ‘expect’ in any case, have your essays been graded to actual AP standards throughout the year? As far as inaccuracies, you’ll be okay if they weren’t central to your arguments and weren’t too serious errors (one essay a few years ago my teacher graded claimed that Abraham Lincoln was the first African American president), but you might still lose a point or two. Major inaccuracies, or errors in your main arguments will likely earn you a 0 in most cases

The MC was really easy. I’m sure I got at least a 70/80 on that.

I think I got at least a 4 or 5 on the DBQ and two FRQs. I wrote 4 pages for the DBQ and 2 pages for both FRQs.

With a 70 on the MC and 4s on the DBQ and FRQ, I should get a 5.

^ Hmm, idk… I guess I’ll just have to see. None of my information was inaccurate… just some was like 20 years off :((. But ehh… I guess it built up to what I was talking about in the correct period… since it was the same people, same idea, motives, etc, just 20 years later. Hopefully I can get a 4-5 then.
