<p>A four degree (or “four dig”) is Academy slang for a freshman. Two and three degrees are juniors and sophomores, but firsties are always just firsties.</p>

<p>Son will be a Firstie Wednesday, 2nd class year - 23 hours in fall semester - 24 hours Spring semester. If you ask him, he did not think the 2nd class year was any easier than the first two. Actually, it was the most challenging, but still made the Commandants List.</p>
