2010 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

OMG, I love your name SO MUCH.

Invited at MIT BCS today.

Stanford Neuroscience meets this Thursday, so hang tight people!

The suspense is killing me. Fast forward to Feb. 15th, I would just rather know one way or the other already.

[Requirements and Deadlines - Office of Graduate Studies - Tufts University](http://gradstudy.tufts.edu/admissions/requirementsDeadlines.htm)

Maybe Tufts changed their deadline? It says Jan 15th here, but let me know if there is conflicting information somewhere and I’ll call them to figure it out. Thanks!

pentaligin: how about other divisions at Stanford? do you have any informations pertaining to that?

Sorry, I know the neuro program only but if I hear anything I’ll let you guys know.

Deadlines are often program-specific. The Tufts page lists general graduate school deadlines that probably don’t pertain to programs that require interviews since they need a little more time to make their decisions.

My daughter received an invitation to University of Pittsburgh neuro yesterday. I know that someone else received an invitation way back in the beginning of December, yet the first interview weekend was still open as of yesterday. Pitt may be notifying in dribs and drabs instead of in waves or in a single push. (My D applied just a few days before the deadline.) Based on the interview options available to my D, it sounds as though Pitt CNUP is just getting started.

I’m a current PhD student at Brandeis (MCB) and I had applied to all the Boston area schools. If anybody has any questions, PM me.

Mom:

I too got an invitation in mid-December so they are definitely doing it in waves. Did she also get an email asking when an appropriate time would be for a call? It really scared me, but it turned out just to be a phone invite.

Does anyone know if UCSF and UCSD are done sending out interview invites?

MaceVindaloo: no, she just got the phone call.

She just discovered that her college email service has been putting interview info in quarantine, as though it’s spam, so now the concern is whether she missed anything important.

Princeton molecular bio invite! WOOT! :-)

Mom:

Yea, I hated my school email system because it did exactly what is happening to your daughter. I gave them my Gmail address instead (I’ve never had a spam issue with them).

pentaligin

congrats on MIT BCS offer, which area did you get invited for - systems/molecular/…?
I am still waiting for MIT/Stanford neuro.

btw, Harvard neuro has sent out their invites on Dec-18 (I got in a email response from them)…so I am out of it, hope the info helps folks here.

Hi all, I am an international student and applied to Immunology programs at Harvard, Weill Cornell, Columbia, Yale and Rockefeller. Should I be worried about Yale-Weill Cornell and Columbia since I’ve read several interview invitations sent in December for those schools? Does anyone knows if internationals might receive invitations later for those schools? Thank you very much for your response in advance.

^ It depends on the program you applied to as well as your international status. Not all Weill Cornell committees met, for example.

@jakjuk
I heard from the Weill Cornell IMP program last week (12/28). However, I am a domestic applicant so I don’t know if they are reviewing/notifying international applicants differently.

Got my interview invitation today for Duke CMB (interview weekends from 2/5-2/6 and 2/19-2/20)!

Anyone have any info. as to whether or not University of Washington Neurobiology & Behavior or Brown Neuroscience are finished sending out interview invites? Hopefully not.

It seems like both have sent out some invites already.

Thanks.
