I wonder what the typical matriculation rate at yale is for those who are admitted. it seems like much less than 10% attend per each program (except the molecular bio program).

Does anyone know if Yale’s MCBGD program is done sending out interviews?

fentonius, congratulations on Yale. Did you get an email and a phone call, or just an email? Also, if you were called, who called you? Could anyone else who has heard from Yale also provide this information, I’m very curious.

I received a phone call from a faculty member at Yale in their neuroscience program.

Regarding Rockefeller - I believe that the committee meets early next week and will send out decisions after that.

It’s typical, even if you are offered admission by the department, that your file must be forwarded to the graduate school for official approval. The graduate school will basically never deny you admission, but it’s still required, and generally the program can only offer you admission contingent on the offical approval of the graduate school.

n7el and safetypin: I will be at Sackler next week. I am nervous because I really want to get in there! Did you get your flight itineraries yet? I start work in a new lab tomorrow and would like to tell them if I am leaving the 13th or the morning of the 14th…

Good luck to everyone! I am very excited for you guys!

@ neurohopes: I did not, but you would be leaving morning of the 14th.

Do we think Yale is finished sending out Neuro interviews?

Thanks, safetypin!

Anyone heard anything from Mount Sinai School of Medicine? Submitted for a long time.

And what about WashU DBBS? I received the email you guys mentioned about one month ago, but still no formal response. Do I still have a chance?

University of Pittsburgh (Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program) invite by email this morning. Primary weekend is 2/18-2/21.

Applied: UVA, UMich, UPitt, UMass Med, URochester
Interviews: UMich (PIBS), UPitt (IBGP), UMass Med (Immuno+Viro)
Accepted: none
Rejected: none

thanks molly and everyone for responding… I guess I’ll just have to wait and see (although it’s looking pretty good )

is anyone else going nuts waiting?!?!?!

I know I am going mad! I really wanna hear back from cali schools…looks like I most probably will be rejected!!

I think I am turning neurotic about this. I still haven’t heard anything from 7 schools I applied to, granted I have gotten 2 interviews so far.

@yaygrady
I second wanting to hear back from cali schools, but my hope has dwindled

Has anyone else applied to the Duke Molecular Cancer bio program?

I am going completely nuts. I know I should be grateful with 2 interviews but I am dying to find out about UCLA. I’d rather just know, darn it.

I don’t think we should give up hope – they are probably just getting around to this after the break and it will be another week or more…

if it helps i have 0 interviews from 11 schools i’ve applied :(

@neuronguy

I heard from Sinai on Monday, but I’m micro/immuno

Rejections: none yet…

wasabi2u you got an interview from yale too? the pharmacology program at yale is not really big. i think last year they only have 3 students. also why would you say much less than 10% attend? is that because some other folks got into other univs and chose to go there or is it because the chances after the interview is less than 50%?

Mount Sinai will have their interviews this weekend maybe this is the first round?
UCSF is having interviews by the end of Jan and early Feb. thats is the BMS program

Sinai’s first round of interviews will be this coming Monday/Tuesday. The last round (Round 7) will be March 15/16. Decisions are typically made the Friday after you interview. Early round interviewees are more likely to get wait-listed, as the committee likes to wait til they’ve met everyone before filling the class. Also, Sinai doesn’t do separate meetings for the different MTAs, nor separate interview days.
