Congrats to everyone getting invites!

hey guys, I got a call for an interview with stanford neuro earlier today. the representative told me they would send out an e-mail to follow up and I haven’t gotten it yet. since they were calling one by one, it’s totally possible they’re still not done issuing invitations.

does anyone happen to know the number of people accepted as compared to the number who are interviewed for this particular program? it’s my top choice, so hearing from them made me both excited and more nervous at the same time…

good luck to everyone!!

well…seems like harvard systems bio sent out interview invites too.

sorry, but damnit why can’t these programs just let us know at once instead of giving out invites one by one? it’s frustrating to see interview invites trickling out on these forums at seemingly random times and then trying to anticipate if/when you’ll get an invite.

Regarding MIT Biology: Do they send out interview invitations in waves? If one has not received an invitation by today (Friday), does this mean rejection? Thanks :)

yeah, same as lexexee, i’d like to know as well. congrats neuroling!

Also, does MIT Biology send out invites according to emphasis designated on the application, or all at once regardless of emphasis? Thanks again…

regardless, a lot of mit bio invites are going out today.

uhh no clue about the invite process but my interests are cell/molecular bio/cancer

MIT finished all apps at the same time, so if you haven’t heard you probably didn’t get an interview

do you know anything about harvard systems bio ec1234?

I saw someone on gradcafe post they recieved an email interview request from Harvard systems bio. It was not me though However, last year i noticed someone received a request on the 14th of Jan, while others received requests on the 7th.

yeah, i saw that too. whatever.

has anyone heard anything from the harvard or upenn immunology groups?

Well, it sounds like you guys are stressed over Stanford. Hopefully most of you will get good news soon, if it’s not over! (I didn’t apply there and I am glad I saved the $100, because it looks like there is some serious neuro competition this year).

I called the neuro dept. at UCLA and she sounded exasperated when I asked her about invites. I bet ten people called her before me (although none of you guys, from the looks of it.) She said they haven’t started going out and it will be in waves through March. I don’t think I believe her – it looks like they went out in 3 waves last year, starting right about now and continuing through the end of January.

I’ve been keeping my mind off Stanford neuro by making blueberry pancakes for the last two hours. Wish I were joking.

I just got an interview to Albert Einstein!!! Yay!!! Two interview weekends: Jan 25-26 or Feb 1-2

Interest: Cancer Bio
Applied: Gerstner Sloan-Kettering, Albert Einstein, Mt. Sinai, Vanderbilt, UPenn, UPitt, Tufts Sackler
Interviews: GSK, Albert Einstein
Accepted: None
Rejected: None

I am international.

could the people that might have already posted about getting into stanford neuro (and those that haven’t posted yet) please post when/if you receive an email from the program? thanks.

I’ve just got a interview invitation from JHU CMM program. Wow!!
