Applied: MIT, Yale, Rockefeller, Harvard, Columbia, Weill Cornell, NYU, Brandeis, UChicago, Princeton, Stanford
Interviews: NYU (Sackler Neuro), Princeton (Neuro), Weill Cornell (BCMB), Brandeis (MCB)
Rejections: MIT, (and most definitely: Yale, Rockefeller, Columbia and Stanford)
Realistically waiting on: UChicago (mix-up with LORs, was told they are reviewing my app on Thursday, so we’ll see - this is for computational neuroscience).

It is cool when invitation letters are signed by the very people you want to work with.

I know University of Illinois at Chicago (GEMS) has a Feb. 15 deadline. And according to an automatic e-mail response from UT Southwestern, they are still accepting applications up to Feb. 1st.

I meant to type I’m sure we’ll be fine in my previous post. For the ladies on the board. . .do you plan to carry around your purse during interviews?

@biomed2010: I haven’t thought about that. I would tend to want to avoid carrying it around, but I don’t really want to leave my ID, credit cards and money in my hotel either.

i brought along a little wallet that i could fit in my coat pocket and just walked around in my coat. that worked really well. there were girls there with purses but they seemed to be quite a burden

I did and so did every other female during the interview. You don’t actually need to if it really bothers you, though I recommend keeping ID and CC just in case.

Thanks for the responses. I was just thinking it might be awkward moving around from interview to interview and what if I got so nervous I forgot it. I also felt weird about walking around without ID and phone just in case. A wristlet is a great idea biophdplease. I think hitting the mall tonight might also help calm my pre-interview jitters.

I heard from Princeton Ecology and Evolutionary Biology that they have contacted interviewees… so if you haven’t heard it’s probably a ‘no’. Unfortunately I’m not in.

Still waiting for at least seven schools( micro/immuno Ph.D. Two invitations so far)
Btw, I had a dream about Stanford last night and I would like to share with everyone:
A guy called my said a decision is made based on my applications. I replied anxiously:" Do I have an interview?" The guy replied:" find it on-line!" I asked again but the guy replied the same thing. So I wanted to reach my computer in a hurry. Without finding my computer, I woke up:) Anyway, good luck to those of you who are still waiting, or prepare for the first interview!

does anybody know how harvard bbs is doing regarding sending out offers? anybody received anything this week or heard anything from admissions? thnx!

Hey I’ve applied to a few universities for the same program (Micro/Viro), and haven’t heard from any universities yet. Which universities have you applied for/gotten an invite?

I m an international student (from Canada).

Yes, I have been wondering the same thing. I know that Harvard BBS sends out in waves, but I would like to find out when they stop sending out invites. I read on their website that all invites should be sent by the first week of Feb, but if we dont get a call by say this friday, should we just realistically assume that we will not be getting accepted? Thanks!

oh…I see. I only applied to public health prograram in JHU, Harvard, and Yale. I’d accepted to JHU and got a interview invitation from Harvard. What about JHU? Did you hear from the JHU??
