These stats come from the USNA Alumni Association....just published. For those of you parents and students hoping for an Appointment I figured you should be aware of this info....

Aof January 23, 2007, the following applications were received for the Class of 2011 Admissions cycle:
Total Applications: 11,821 (up 12.3%)
Female Applications: 2,410 (up 10.9%)
Minority Applications: 2,759 (up 21.3%)
Currently, the Attrition Rate at USNA is the lowest of all Service Academies. The plebe class (2010) only lost 3% during the summer while the Class of 2007 may realize the largest graduation rate in Naval Academy history with a projected 82% (or higher).
The impact of these historically high retention rates will be a smaller incoming class on I-Day (27 June 2007).

Wow! I'm interested in seeing the final breakout, where they peg all of the apps according to who did what (class standing, etc).

^^^It will be published in the Class of 2011 Plebe Summer Booklet you will receive at PPW in August. Nice book...a keeper for the scrapbook!

Well, for those of us who know I scrapbook ALMOST everything, it will certainly find its way in there! :D

I wonder if I can get two.

nurseypoopoo ... WHY does that revelation not surprise?! ;)

I know you say that out of love and concern for me. :D

Yes, I've acknowledged I have a "problem" (isn't that what those Hollywood people do?). But, I'm okay with it. Can't you be happy for me? (Ooh, I think they say that, too!). :D

However, the hub, when he reads stuff, doesn't leave it in prime condition.

nurseypoo- the plebesummer 'yearbook' was told to be "one per family" last year......although they had a small insert with final 'statistics' that was available in multiple copies.

I'll give hub a copy of the small insert. I'll keep the rest. :D

good luck, proud mom with that...
I've come to learn military dads can't help themselves when they see their children in a uniform to serve their country.....they get as sentimental as their wives....so maybe you'll HAVE to beg around for his very own copy to earmark and yours to scrapbook!

I'll just smack his hands. :D

No, I won't. :p

Are the stats online before PPW?

^^^^^
The stats go online right after I-Day.

Well, then at least I'll be able to catch a glimpse of them after I get back from dropping off the boy.

Last year they went up on 25 July 2006. If you search USNA.edu for "2010 profile" it will give you the date that the pdf was uploaded to the website. The media guide was issued at IDay however that was just posted to the PAO page, the actual admissions profile went up end of July. If you search 2009 Profile that class profile Media Guide went up on June 28 and the Class profile went on the admissions page on July 26, 2005. I would thing that it will be the same for the class of 2011.
