Personal Qualities:

Very Entrepreneurial, started first business at 14 mowing lawns, made about $3,000/Summer; sold first business for $2500 then started

GiZmo Software Distribution, which is the company I own now, pretty successful Sole Proprietorship, making about $2000-$3000/Month

Community Service:
100 assorted hours, mostly at local hospital

So Yeah…that’s the profile

ok... if you make 3k a month from your "business", why do you need to work 35 hours a week in a restaurant.. that doesn't add up

3k a month isn't that much, if you REALLY need the cash.

thats 26k a year, more than what my mom makes... what does he need that for

Your mom doesn't make much then, no offense. Maybe if he has to help support his family? Who knows. Maybe he just likes money.

No one answered his question...

dooit: Such brazen assumptions. Everyone's financial situation is different.

wharton likes people who like money

My GPA is quite similar to yours. Even though I would be counted as an URM I'm international so... :(

A lot of lower grades... I don't think being URM (unless native american) can compensate THAT much.

nothing adds up though...... how do you even sell a lawn mowing "business", much less one that only generates 3k in revenue over 2 months... w/e

ONLY 3k in two months? ****, mowing lawns i could only pray to make that much in two months..

in the lawn industry, you really just sell your equipment, not total assets.

for MOST of my time working (for the past two years) i've worked 35 hours/week. I've been trimming that to about 15-20 for about the last 4-6 months, but the AVERAGE remains, and regardless, i'm about to quit, because working during the week and running a business on the weekENDS isn't very smart or profitable.

yes, i love money:D

BTW...it's pretty obnoxious / arrogant that ur name is rich kid

Hahaaha thats mad funny your name is Richkid, and you mow lawns as your source of income. Honestly, all you have going for you is affirmative action. 3gs after all that work is nothing, but I am sure it shows interest thats about it though. Thats my 2 cents - DAN

Alright, if the guy is making 3K per month from a software distribution business then I think he is doing well. I doubt the only thing he has going for him is AA if that part of his resume is true. Of course you should back those stats with tax statements, invoices etc to show the numbers you are putting down is credible.

how do you get a D in 8th grade spanish

colleges dont look at eighth grade...

this is wharton...a 3.4 gpa...come on i dont even know how you could give that a chance I got to one of the best public schools in pennsylvania with about 600 kids and our valedictorians (myself included) have never made it in and all of them had 1500+ sat and i had a 2320 since i took the new one. The one kid had a perfect 1600 was valedictorian and he had so much community service that he was recognized by the county newspaper for being one of the most active high school students...how does a 3.4 2100 even have a chance

A friend of mine with a <2100 got into Wharton. You are falling prey to a common statistical error. Your sample size is minimal so you can't come up with accurate conclusions.
