I just found this forum and I can’t believe this exists. THE TEST IS STILL BEING HELD TODAY!!! Man had I knew earlier I could have said I took the test already and asked for both questions and answers liked everyone else. People started asking for answers so early too. This is such a cheap way to qualify for AIME.

Like littlesilico, did you actually take the test already or do you just want to know the answers in advance???

Yeah, indie500 I don’t doubt that you took the test, but others may ask,

I took both amc10’s, and got 114 on A, and 102 on B, really big gap, I don’t want to say more, but I’ll risk it anyways, on first I knew everything, except 3 problems, made trivial errors, here I guessed, and guessed 6 right, but that shows the difference, :P

and please report littlesilico, I think he is cheating…

Also user bestswimmer, asking for descriptions of test questions starting last night already? Did those who PM you actually feed you the answers? If so, I’m definitely coming on this forum before the AIME claiming that I took it in China already. If I don’t receive the answers, the test questions are fine too. Heck, I live in California and my private school has strict policys about not missing classes so we take these tests after school.

Dude you should’t have answered all 25 questions. The best strategy on the AMC10 is to answer 21 questions. If you get 19 of those right, you have a 120 and you are in. Since you got a better score on the 10B, I’m assuming the 10B is harder and will get a better cutoff… I really hope the cutoff will be 115.5 or below, or else I’m screwed.

I did really bad on it as well, and I agree with that strategy, EXCEPT when you don’t know many but can make educated guesses, and than guess a letter consistently, (DONT SAY IT)

It was easier, but there was more geometry. I’m weaker in that than in probability. I got 114 because of a stupid mistake on question 19 (are we allowed to say now? It’s Thursday.) AMC 10b cutoff is usually 120 because less people take it.

sorry for the confusion.
I wrote that post well after I took the test, so no, I was not asking for the questions (though looking back at the post, it does look like I was- again, sorry).
I received the solutions booklet from my test proctor, and I simply wanted to give people who did not receive the booklet the answers in case they wanted them.
As proof, I asked for 10 of the questions. You can ask USAMO42 (I believe that was his username) that I promptly did give him the answers, and thus there is no way I was cheating and trying to get the questions before I took the test.
Thanks!

I am now aware, however, that I am not supposed to discuss the answers with anyone outside my school until after the contest period is over. Thus, if you are going to report me, you may technically report me for that.

ofmg…I was looking at the solutions and the answers I marked in my copy of the problems…and I just realized that I misbubbled. I FREAKING MISBUBBLED. I remember I skipped one and I guess I didn’t skip it on the answer sheet…omg that’s five questions gone right there that I would have had right.

Well, last year we had an 88.5 cutoff, so it wouldn’t require a historically low cutoff. The 12A cutoff was 93.0, and I think the general consensus is that this test was slightly easier than the 12A, so it is likely the cutoff will be in the 93-96 range. But don’t lose all hope.
