2011 AP Human Geography Preparation Thread!

I put so they could create a strong currency to compete with the dollar. That comes from economic unity.

Hypothetically, why would a airline company relocate from Minnesotta to North Dakota?

I think I put the same thing.

Umm, why would a company want to relocate one of its offices?

WOW!!!

Y’all are getting really bold! It hasn’t even been a full day and you all are already talking IN DETAIL about the MC and essays

@garfieldliker I don’t think they would want to…

Hmm, would they relocte one of their offices? If so, why?

Have you guys ever heard of a website called google?

indeed I have heard of google, and I just used it. rapevictim you would have reported to your country that they can extend their control over all natural resources of their continental shelf

^Sounds about right.

Does anyone else have any hypothetical questions?

^Yes: If I were the CEO of an airline company, what would I write in my report justifying the relocation of one of my offices from Minnesota to North Dakota?

You know google can answer your “hypothetical questions”

Lol I love reading about all of these ‘hypothetical situations’

This thread has gotten so absolutely ridiculous

don’t see anything particularly ridiculous about this thread other than a few curious minds inquiring about certain hypothetical situations pertaining to human geography…

Yes, I am so interested in Geography. What was the answer to the hypothetical question regarding transportation of mineral desposits?

It’s 48 hours! We are free to talk (even though a few people went before the time XD)

I think the MC was easy. I might have skipped like 12-15 questions though. The thing I want to know is that at the back of the test it said that ‘incorrect or unanswered questions will not be weighted’ or something like that, but I was drilled into my head that incorrect answers get 1/4 of the points taken off. So which is it? Do we get no credit for incorrect answers or 1/4 a point off?

What is a buffer state? I don’t remember coming up on that term in Barrons or the deBlij textbook.

A lot of the MCs were specific. I think I got at least half of the questions right. The FRQs were super easy! I am only concerned about the negative effects of a primate city. I came up with lots of attention to primate city, leaving other cities with no business centrality, and LDC countries with primate cities have bad areas and the primate city does not do well economically. Is that good?

A buffer state is one between 2 potentially hostile nations. THailand was an example of a buffer state between British Burma and French Indochina that minimized the possibilities of an Anglo-French war in that region.

Oh, I see. We never really went over that in class, so I had no idea what it was. Thanks.

Lol you still can’t talk about the mc

You know, Mongolia seems to really fit the definition of a buffer state these days …

I didn’t talk about the MC; I just defined “buffer state.”
