Read the material thoroughly
Take the practice quizzes at the end of each chapter
Review Vocab
Take a practice test

^^^^that was all from Barron’s
I feel like I’m pretty well prepared, but I still need to review for FRQs/Models/Some Vocab - all of which i am going to use PR and possibly some Rubenstein

I’m thinking my strategy for approaching this will be:
Read PR first…
Flashcards of every ‘term’, with a precise definition (since they seem to ask you to define things of the FR frequently, it seems), and an example (if applicable)

Draw and label the models as many times as it takes for me to know them perfectly.

@statlanta: So, would you recommend for me to buy PR and use it in addition to Barron’s? And what are the models you guys are talking about? I just started reviewing and so far the only “model” I have seen is the gravity model. Maybe I’m missing something or just haven’t gotten there yet.

Population pyramids
maps, although people say these do not show up on tests very often (like asking about robinson, mercator, fuller, etc.)
malthus
von thunen
urban organization (sector, etc.)
core-peripheral models

I just got PR in the mail and I am going to start reading tomorrow, and like I said earlier, I am going to focus on models and vocab and preparing for FRQs.

I think Barron’s covers the basic stuff well, but from what I’ve seen so far, PR gets more in-depth

^ Personally, I haven’t. They seem nice but they are not necessary considering there are some websites that have AP Human geography vocabulary. Another option would be just to make your own flashcards and save your money.

I’m self-studying,and what really concerns me is the FRQs. Does anybody has the idea about how to prepare them? I just finished BR, is it enough for exam?
BTW, I’m an international student…lol
THX~

@Tenebrous- I haven’t actually completed it yet. But so far, it’s awesome. I think it does a pretty good job with Advance topics. As for free response, I glimpsed over the section, and it’s decent.

^ That’s cool. Basically, I’ve been in a dilemma for a while now, trying to decide if Barron’s alone is enough to get me a 5. I might go with PR also though.
