What did you guys think? I had a useless teacher who didn't teach us anything relevant, and the class was the first semester, so I didn't remember anything. However, I thought that the test was pretty easy considering the circumstances. I crammed for about a day and it really helped with the MC. The FRQ were okay...hated #3, but I think I got a decent amount of partial credit on all of them.

I self-studied, but felt it was pretty hard. I have no idea how I did. I found FRQ #3 the easiest. #2 was awful though. xD

1 was annoying as hell…

We may be the same person.

I am also the same person as you guys.

2 was crap.

3 was tricky.

MC much better.

I better get a 5.

I felt that this exam, in terms of the free response, was a lot more difficult than I was expecting it to be. I went through nearly every single previous year’s free response problems and I definitely was not expecting what we got. I don’t want to go too much in detail, but it was both disappointing and irritating that there was essentially no variation in the free response questions in terms of what was asked. Sure, to some extent the problems were different, but I would have done a lot better if at least one of the free responses had asked for a “different approach” than the other two. (Being vague here makes me look really stupid here, but I’m treading thin ice here due to exam discussion.)

As for the multiple choice, I felt that many of the questions were relatively time-consuming and that there weren’t enough “either you know it or you don’t” questions that don’t take as long to get through. I finished bubbling my final answer right when time was called. Previous practice multiple choice tests I took left me with at least 10-ish minutes to spare to at least check answers.

Overall I felt this was one of my most difficult AP tests this year even though I thought I was extremely prepared for it. Pretty disappointing, but at least it’s all over.

Self studied as well. I thought the MC wasn’t bad, but I definitely had some trouble with the frq’s… Funny thing was, I took it in a room with just three other students. You’d be surprised how much more pressure you feel if you are the last one finishing :/

I had it first semester too! And my teacher didn’t really teach anything as well; I got a 93 in the class because of a huge grade boosting project that my group got a 120% on… hahahaha.

And everything I learned was from this ACDC guy on youtube an hour before the exam. I think I got a 3, which kind of sucks because I’m going to USC in the fall, and they only give credit for 4 or 5. To make matters worse, Econ is the only AP I’m taking that can even get you course credit instead of elective credit -_____-

I finished with 10 to 15 minutes of free time on the multiple choice and 25ish minutes extra on free response.

I felt that the MC and FRQ 1 & 2 were easy except for one part of #2. #3 was pretty tricky but I think I got it

The multiple choice was not horrible, but I too felt it was time consuming. As for the free response, I’m in full agreement with you, DSG3002! They all were much too similar to one another. I was definitely expecting a more varied section, but instead ended up drawing lots of similar graphs.
Overall, I really have no idea what to expect, score-wise.

uh if you drew “all similar graphs” you were doing something seriously wrong.

unless you are saying similar in the sense that they didn’t look like bunny rabbits or lollipops, but yeah, most microeconomics graphs are similar because they all answer the same two questions.

when the fed buys bonds from a bank, does the money go to the demand deposit, or does it go straight to excess reserves?

No reserves go straight to excess reserves. If there are 5,000 dollars of funds acquired, it will have to keep the reserve rate of said 5,000 dollars as reserve funds, ie. 1000 dollars.

^
Are you serious? Omg, that makes me so happy, I was so unsure of that… Because my thought process was that if the Fed buys back the bonds, they aren’t depositing money but simply repaying a loan. But I changed my answer to yours at the last minute, thank goodness!! I’m so happy right now; I feel confident I did ok!

I don’t know if you guys took a different test, but there was nothing about the reserve/bonds for me… Do internationals get a different exam? If so, just ignore what I said. :)

The reserve/bonds question was for the macro exam lol

I also messed up the entire thing for #2 pretty bad on the micro. I switched the labels on one of the graphs accidentally and shifted a curve the wrong way

I thought the multiple choice wasn’t too bad, especially because I didn’t feel prepared coming into the test. The FRQs were terrible. I thought the 2nd was the easiest of them, but I think it varies on everyone who took it.

Labels? You mean the axes? I didn’t label each graph like “GRAPH OF _” “GRAPH OF _” Hope its not necesarry…
