I have a question about apps. When do they start to come out for students for entry in fall 2011. Also I plan to take the sat in oct 2010, but I want to finish the app and send it in september hopefully. So can I still send in my oct. sat score even though I sent in my app or should I wait till the scores come out and send everything including the app together. I just want send in everything as early as possible. THANKS

You can certainly submit the application and later submit the SAT score. However, your application isn’t complete until all parts are in their office.

Visit the admissions site and look for the early action deadline. For me (2006), it was November 1 or so. Submit your paperwork by then.

They discontinued early action for incoming freshmen. The last class to have early action offered to them was the class of 2012.

Really? That’s interesting. Do they still have the early decision program?

Is there any specific deadline for sending in app and being eligible for scholarships

So sending in the app before sending sat scores is just be the same as sending everything together?

Basically. The SAT score will be reported to Stony Brook if you designated the institution when taking the test. Otherwise, you will have to manually order reports and forward them to the University. Your application won’t be complete and on file for review until everything including the SAT scores are in.

As for application submission, the earlier the better. The deadline is January 15 but I recommend getting the application in by December 1 latest.

Thanks djstony you really are a great help, what year r u in?

I graduated this past May.

DJStony’s on the ball here. The deadline is January 15, but we strongly recommend you get stuff in earlier. Get everything in as early as you can, and then make sure you list us to get a score report when you take the SAT in October.

We don’t offer EA any more, and never offered ED. Single deadline, single notification this year.
