Nice. Thanks for the post.

Last years speech was excellent as well. I am excited to hear this speech

I was expecting some more responses here…

I know some people call him too moderate, bordering on pansy. On the other hand he does have some interesting viewpoints. Some of his thoughts and articles are rather unique as he seems to toe the line. Guess it is better described an unpredictable as you dont know where he could land? Just an observation

Guess Im most excited that he isn’t George Rupp. That was possibly the worst speech I have ever heard

I’m looking forward to hearing him speak at graduation. I forget the name of the guy who spoke at Dd’s graduation in 2008 - he was in charge of humanitarian aid for United Nations or something like that. Due to the nature of his speech, it was rather depressing, and I was in a mood to celebrate (and celebrate we did!). But, it’s all good, and it was probably important for those graduating seniors to have a call to action and to serve. To those who have been given so much… ;)

2010 was Prof. Mohammad Younus
2009 was Zainab Salbi
2008 was the former Rice President George Rupp

Guess we just differ in opinion then, I hated Rupp’s speech. Thought he rambled on for 45 minutes and repeated “be good”.

Nope - I think we have the same opinion. I was being polite! (And I wiki’d him; he is president of the International Rescue Committee. I knew it was something humanitarian… ;))

Ah that makes sense. I was annoyed by his speech because it was so mundane. And it looked like they couldnt find someone else. It was too bad for me to be polite ;)

The last two years were excellent, with my favorite being Dr. Younus.
