Yes, it is too late to warn, but I have pointed out before about taking heavy load in freshman and sophomore years so that junior and senior years could be lighter for MCAT prep. and Interviews. Frankly, my D. did not have much to take in her senior year. In her case it was a blessing, since one of Med. Schools have added to requirement list and she was able to drop one of her minors and complete additional requirments in her senior year, get accepted to this school (with personal telephone call from the Dean on Oct. 15) and turn them down also. But you can do it only if you go heavy in first and second year. This is for those who are a bit younger…

CONGRATS Entomom’s daughter!!!

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!

Kat

Congrats Entomom and D! You may now officially exhale!

Good luck to all other CC applicants waiting to hear good news today.

Congrats to entomom & D. Hoping to hear more good news soon from everyone. It is a long and exhausting process.

Thanks so much!

Best of luck to everyone applying this cycle, it’s happening!!!

Congrats Ento! Looking forward to more good news in the future.

Any applicants reading this who do not hear today, try not to stress. It is tough to hear others getting in when you hear crickets, but not all schools begin offering on October 15th.

Congrats to Entomom and her D !! Awesome!

Congrats to entomom & entodaughter!

Big congrats on big news!

Congrats to entomom and I bet more good news are coming!

I’m one of those bad parents who have 500 baby photos of DS1 but like a half dozen of poor DS2. And on CC I’ve talked a lot about DS1’s experiences at Johns Hopkins http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/273875-other-johns-hopkins-no-final-exams.html where he is now teaching as a “visiting lecturer”. Meanwhile DS2, who always had to live in the shadow of his accomplished brother, also was accepted to JHU undergrad but saved his parents money and took the honors scholarship to attend UConn. Well today he received his first acceptance (to UConn Med) and his big brother called to congratulate him on his achievement! Congrats to all the other happy parents here.

Great news Robert!

congratulations to all receiving good news!!

Congrats! Always good to hear everyone’s wonderful news!

Excellent news Robert, congrats to your son!

Hey, I was the same with my older and younger kids, but with the opposite result–D2 chose the most expensive UG option despite many rational reasons to do otherwise. You musta done something right!

Congrats, roberth!
My D. did the same except she did not bother to apply to any UG that we knew for sure would not give her substantial Merit award, there were no discussion, just natural progression. So, she was ready to do the same in respect to Med. School, jump into cheaper one. It took me few talks to make sure that she would choose the best match for herself instead of the cheaper one. I felt that after free tuition UG, she deserves the best. There are others like this.
Be assured, no concequence on Med. School, they all seem to start on the same footing no matter where they came from.
Best wishes to everyone still waiting!

More CONGRATS!!

Kat

Its so difficult to get into allopathic med schools today that I thought I’d alert everyone to a brand new med school here in CT, The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine Admissions
The school should be available on AMCAS any day now. They emphasize training primary care physicians. There are only 60 spots for the first year class but they only expect 400 apps since they are starting so late. I am a subspecialist at one of there affiliated hospitals and so have seen their presentation of the curriculum. Looks impressive. Again its a new school and thus unranked but its accredited and may be worth a shot.

Excellent. I don’t have time to click. Are they accepting apps this year?

And more congrats!!

Curm: They are accepting apps this year for the freshman class to start in the fall 2013.
MiamiDAP: UConn would be the cheapest med school for my son but he was interviewed by some other highly ranked private schools and we are telling him its his choice depending on where he gets in.
