2012 Candidates for the Presidential Scholars Program list is online

So how did you guys do with the applications? Did everyone get in before the deadline?

Personally, my school’s principal let me skip all my classes today as long as I stayed in the building and worked on the app until it was done. My essays were already pretty much finished, so it was just entering activities and simple logistical stuff.

what sat/act scores are needed to become a candidate?

Since they pick out the top from each state, a perfect or very-near perfect 1600 SAT is needed (CR+M). I would guess that if you’re in a giant state, like CA, a 1600 would definitely be required. I would assume a 36 for the ACT (maybe 35 in smaller states?).

I got mine in before the deadline. I didn’t even realize this thread was going.
Anybody else find the format of the ‘Activities’ section difficult?

2 days… 10char

Is it definite that the semifinalists are announced on the 9th?

Last year they announced on the 9th, but that was a Monday so we are hoping it is tomorrow. I haven’t seen anything other than the original statement of “early April”.

Apparently its not today…

Has anyone tried calling and asking if they have a date planned for the release?

Received and email reply today that the semi-finalists will be named on Monday, April 15

The list of PSP semifinalists is online:

Anyone receive mailed letter of notification yet? If so, what state?
