Do they only notify by mail, my sons status changed 2/28, decision made...receiving in mail shortly. Does anyone knoe their definition of shortly...days, weeks? Also, good or bad if by mail, rather than email?

I know it’s by mail no matter what, but my status changed at that time too and still haven’t received

Not in the mail today either

I emailed music yesterday to ask if shortly means days or weeks, not in today’s mail and they have not responded to my email yet.

It is Spring Break currently. Most of the university is shut down this week.

My daughter is a current student at fsu, she said the music and theater ( she is in) have things going on over the break. I just want to know if they sent decisions out b4 the let out for break

I had been wondering the same thing… But looking at the applications instructions under the College of Music web site, it states:

March 7-16 - College of Music Notification Week

“The College of Music will make final admissions decisions for all applicants during this period and notifications will be mailed by March 16. Please be sure your academic application to FSU is complete well in advance. Incomplete applications and academic issues will result in delayed notification.”

Fingers crossed…

Nothing today either, Lmw, did they ever respond to your email?

Nothing in mail, and no email. I was just hoping they sent it before spring break. What instrument did u audition? My son was trumpet, and others have said the are already pretty heavy on trumpets…we will see.

I auditioned for classical saxophone.

Nothing in the mail yesterday either.

Nothing in todays mail. Do you know of anyone has heard? Waiting is not in my DNA…,

Someone mentioned that it would change from Major: Music NFA (not formally accepted) to just Major: Music. I just do not know if this happens before or after letter arrives.

Nothing today…my son has several friends in fsu’s music program, and they cannot remember time frame from status change to acceptance letter. I looked back on this site and found a post from last year saying status change 3/16 and letter received 3/24…

Well if it’s about the same time frame, it should be anyday now. The only problem is that if they sent it before spring break it would’ve gotten to us by now, so I don’t think they did. I doubt they sent anything over the break, even though it’s possible. If not, they won’t be sent before Monday.

Spoke with admissions today, they said notification was mailed out friday…

great! that means it should be here by tomorrow, wednesday at the latest.

I notice several people received their acceptance today. Good luck! This is my sons only choice…yours?

I have a few others I’ve been accepted to but they’re more my safety schools as FSU music is in a different league than them (them being UF and UCF) and I still waiting on decisions from Miami, Michigan, and Manhattan School of Music

Sounds like you will have some nice schools to choose from. My son only applied to fsu, we live near ucf, but he went to a couple of the summer camps and tri-state at fsu, and just knows that is where he wants to be.

Not in the mail today, I’m going to assume it has to be tomorrow. However, I know march decisions are released tonight for people who did not meet the priority deadline for the University’s decision. If you look at your major on the University app status check it should say Music, NFA. I believe if the NFA part disappears when the decisions are released then you’re most likely in. I don’t think it means you’re not if it doesn’t disappear, it probably just wasn’t updated if so. I’m not sure what it says if it knows you were rejected by the music school. Anyone know?
