2012 Illinois ACT PSAE

Colorado also took this same test. I am sure i am not alone in my anger over resultss being mailed in 3-8 WEEKS!?!?

AGAIN, what did you guys put for mesh bags

Air and Water

That act was really hard, especially the math section

Man i hate the mesh bag qouestion it didn’t make any sense

Ok so Ill required high school to take this? And to think I was one county away from going to school there smh.

Hey guys… it seems like us over here in Oregon took the same one you guys did, except with the essay writing portion. Just, uh, fyi.

Because Illinois didn’t have enough money to pay graders for the Essay :/.

How stupid that we didn’t get the writing! I mean maybe if U of I at UC didn’t require writing I wouldn’t be so mad, but even they require it…

Hmm, I thought urbana didn’t require writing?

[U</a> of I Admissions: Freshman FAQ](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions)

Can’t you still send this score in though if you do well on it, as long as you take another ACT test that does have the writing portion and send that test score in as well? I do agree that it was terrible that the Illinois students were not offered the writing portion though. I wish they would have at least allowed the students the option of paying that $10 themselves. It does appear that IUUC does not require the writing portion of the test. I wonder if they don’t require it because their state no longer pays for the students to take it?

LadyHam, yes you can send both to schools. That is what I am planning for my DD.

Well, the omission of writing this year is new! My D took the PSAE in school last year and used that score on all of her college apps. I know some of the schools she applied to did require the writing portion. I found this article about the change:

I do know the results were available online for the test last year, as they are for other ACT tests, for those students who already had an account at ACT.org. The state test has a notation to differentiate that set of scores from the national April testing date, which I think was the 14th, if you took that test also (since it included the writing!)

I don’t remember if we were able to view the scores as quickly after state testing as is typical for national ACT test dates. ACT.org does say that scores from special test dates, like state testing, will appear online AFTER the snail mail scores have arrived : (
