♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

nbz; thats really strange. I have very little pre reqs done and my GPA is really close to yours… any reason you think you weren’t accepted specifically to SB?

also got my admissions packet in; kind of lame just a flyer no real specific information or stickers… :/

i tag’ed with UCSD and will be going there and pavin i have no clue.

Do you plan on calling admissions to find out why you were turned down? I’m actually extremely curious, given your stats, why you were rejected. I know your goal is UCSD, but even if you’re indifferent to being rejected to UCSB would you mind calling anyways and informing the rest of us, so we can figure out if we’re in a similar position?

@dilapidatedmind: I think its really hard to say. Last year my brother applied to LA, Cal, SD, Irvine and SB. He got into Cal, LA and Irvine, But got rejected from SD and SB. He called to ask why and they said that he didn’t meet the “requirements”, whatever that means.

Have any College of Engineering majors been admitted?

I’ve only seen Letters & Sciences peeps thus far.

Let the CS majors in, UCSB!

P.S. I called them today and the adcom said that the COE has some additional scrutiny that they subject applications to on top of the general admissions stuff. He also said that if I’m denied admission to CS, it will take some time for me to be evaluated for my secondary major (in L&S), so I may not hear back for awhile. UCSB admissions people are pretty nice, btw. Very reassuring, told me I looked like I was in good shape to be admitted.

Accepted!

Rejected for Economics (first choice), accepted for Pre-Psychology. If I attend, I will probably switch over to Math, but I really wish I could get Econ some way…

GPA: somewhere between 3.9 and 4.0

TAG: NO, I missed the deadline

ALSO

My friend was admitted 3.3 GPA and no TAG for Philosophy.

Accepted! 3.29 (with TAG) as pre-poli sci, but I’m hoping to change it to Communications if I choose to enroll.

Good luck to the rest of you!

decision still pending…this is really starting to get on my nerves.

@EASD: You have a solid GPA, I wonder why UCSB did not accept you into Economic major? Did you finish all your prerequisites?

@oxyklean have no fear, I’m in the same boat…

Ugghhhh I know they have thousand of applicants, but wouldn’t it be so much better if they instead reviewed all applications and just told everyone at the same time on a later date? Rather than this, “oh we start telling people on this day, but we could keep you suffering for a whole month and a half” BS? Is anyone with me on this?

@forensicanthro
Woohoo!
That’s like the same GPA I have. Sid you sign a tag? Per-reqs?
I just hope they get around to my app soon. I sware I’m going to have a heart attack

Just got accepted for Pre-Econ!

Ugh this is annoying and i think its a bit unprofessional of ucsb

ive noticed a lot of economics, psychology, poli sci majors

are there any geography transfer students?? im curious as to how my application stands next to other geog or earth science majors??

received the SB admit packet today. Not much to look at but I just love seeing big admissions envelopes in the mail!

Has anyone that has been admitted received any information regarding financial aid?

ps. I guess I should add that when I check the financial aid page it says “We were unable to match your UCSB Perm Number with a Financial Aid Application…”
Is that normal?
