♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

ucsb said that financial aid for transfers should be available in about two weeks. they’re doing freshmen first for whatever reason.

Scienceguy- we do. Per assist.org we have completed everything. We also did our course update back in January…admin&records mentioned that may hold it up.

Dab, did you find out if they post on weekends?
I’m thinking they at least get 1 day off?

Lol I’m anticipating denial because I have half done, they make it seem like its mandatory but my friend got in with 2 completed because he had a great record as well as ECs and a pretty good job. I have some great ECs and I had a great job too but I’m willing to bet I will get denied. He got lucky.

How much longer?

Jarmochin- they were very vague about most of it. She just assured me transfers should know by mid-April. And that a Decision Pending wasn’t bad it just means they haven’t gotten to our application yet. She mentioned they do approximately 100 per day. TAG does not provide any type of priority.

@Scienceguy1
I haven’t really seen/heard any Biology majors get admitted to any of the UCs yet, except UCR and UCSC. One person got admitted to UCSD for Biochem (through their Chem department), but no pure Biology majors as far as I know.

Admissions aren’t likely to be released on Sunday, so we’ll all have to wait until tomorrow. Then I imagine there should be a few more acceptances on this thread.

I’m anticipating that CS, Engineering, Bio, and Chem decisions will be last.

Hey, anyone that got accepted to UCSB this week get their admission packet? Just curious, how does does the envelope packet look like and what comes with it?

I haven’t check my mail yet, because it was raining yesterday.

I got mine yesterday, it was a large envelope, said Congrats on the front, didn’t really have any useful info. I’m waiting to see my financial package before I sir.

does anyone know when the financial aid will be posted? Is that done in batches too lol, since it says starting end of march… i think.

^ i think the financial aid is coming out in batches. officially it states that transfers will have the financial aid info in may, but they seem to be positing unofficial aid packages for many transfer students now. mine may be delayed because my calgrant is still pending. if you want to attend summer school, don’t forget to add UCSB to your FAFSA for last year. then you will be eligible for Pell, or whatever is available. cheers!

Norcaltransfer77, when were you accepted?

I already assumed that there will be congratulations on all the admit packets. Lol. Is there any pictures on the envelope? Like I heard the UCSD one got 3D glasses. Does the UCSB have something like that? Maybe like a University logo or another picture. Just curious.

I still haven’t checked the mail. I might do it after reading.

Iamsocal: I was accepted on Wednesday and received my packet yesterday. It was pretty cute! Big white envelope.

I really need to go check my mail! Lol. I’ll do it after I finish reading.

Cute? Does it have a picture on the envelope?

^^The envelope is big, and has a picture of the UC seal on it. And it says in big letters “Congratulations on your admissions to Santa Barbara!”

here’s a picture of the admit envelope:

I never thought admission decisions for UCSB would take this long…

Took a look at my friend’s packet and boy was I disappointed. A letter and some pamphlet you would find at the admissions office

i love that you dudes are discussing the envelope! such a relief to talk about that after all the stress of waiting for the admissions decision. although, looks like some people are still waiting. “no news is good news.” seriously! good luck all.

p.s. thanks for posting a picture. hilarious. now the whole neighborhood knows you have been accepted. hope they don’t send me rejections from other schools that say, “SORRY CHARLIE, YOU HAVE BEEN REJECTED” that would suck.
