last year people heard back on 6/3! but sunday would be a weird day to release them…</p>

<p>I SIRed to UCSB as economics major, but UCSD seems so much better for econ so I hope that I can get in…</p>

<p>@ieatsharks This is my just my thought, but the grad school for econ at UCSD is one of the best programs in the nation so I was thinking that it would also effect the undergrad program as well. It is also more theoretical like econometric which is what I am more interested. Whereas UCSB is more real world econ and it ranking is not nearly as high as UCSD ranking. I am basing it mostly on the ranking between the two schools. Iunno, are you in the same predicament?</p>
<p>@ddongxboi o i completely agree with what you said. Their econ department is top notch. There are people on these forums that say that UCSB completely blows Ucsd’s econ out of the water, ~they’ve got their facts distorted. are you wait listed?</p>

<p>Yeah I’m waitlisted, and really want to go UCSD, it is my top choice. But I’m already planning on going study abroad through SB. It will also take me longer to graduate SD, because I have to finish the calculus series. I’m kinda hoping that SD rejects me so I don’t have to decide on which school to attend. Make sure to post if you get accepted later!!!</p>

<p>since they responded to waitlisters on the 3rd last year which was a Friday I think we won’t get any responses until Tuesday this week bc it will be the 3rd weekday this month and they don’t work on the weekends… at least I dont think they do… so yeah Tuesday :)</p>

<p>Is UCSD going to pick students off the waiting list mainly by GPA?</p>
<p>When I called and asked them that a while back the lady got all offended and told me there were lots of factors as to who they picked. lol</p>
<p>They’re very rude actually LOL. They don’t want to answer any questions. I don’t really blame them since they get 34323432 calls a day but it’s their job.</p>
