Strengths: GPA (got a B on my first semester in Philosophy. Since then, all A’s.)
Weaknesses: EC- I have no work experience; I played sports (went to league final and got a bronze medal) and was a VP of a club, but didn’t do any of that in college.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Again. GPA. I was extremely nervous, because I had nothing to offer other than my grades. Two years ago, I was just an underachieve high school student who couldn’t even dare to apply to four-year universities. It’s good to know that I grew as a student substantially. Best to luck to all of you guys, and those who are accepted, CONGRATULATION! (If you guys have any question, feel free to PM me.)

happytrain, the classes listed on assist.org are lower-division, as upper-division courses can’t be completed at the community college level. the classes taken at cc generally correspond with the classes at the UC required for declaring the major.

edit: lower-, not under-division.

so for the people that didn’t notified today, where are we supposed to go from here? keep checking every hour 24/7 until the end of april?

so no engineering majors today??? -____-

Doesn’t seem like there were any hard science majors admitted today unfortunately. :frowning: From the post it seems like mostly humanities and social science majors only.

Based on stats. Im calling GPA’s above 3.65 and some TAGS

^I had above a 3.65 and TAGed and I haven’t heard anything. I think it has to do with what major you applied to as well.

Any science majors accepted?

Have a 3.93, CS/Engineering major, TAG, IGETC, and almost all pre-reqs completed.

Still being evaluated. So yeah, I think our (Biology/Jacobs School of Engineering) applications might take more time or they’re not ready yet.

Accepted!!

UC GPA: 3.7+
Major Pre-reqs Completed: Not done with 3 courses
Intended Major: Biochemistry/Chemistry

Job/Work Experience: Yes
Volunteer/Community service: Yes
Personal Statement: Very Strong

Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
State (if domestic applicant): California
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Yes!

Strengths: Personal Statement/ Personally, improvement on sequent courses.
Like, I got C in first course of Physics and next semester, I got A for second course.
That C really pulled down my GPA… Anyway, I think they will reflect your improvement as well.
Weaknesses: Not many experiences with EC.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Probably Tag

General Comments: I’m super happy that I got admitted! and I really wish a best luck for everyone who’s waiting for their decisions. Don’t worry, your hard work will definitely pay off! Good luck!

Accepted!
ICAM major
UC GPA: 3.6
TAG: Yes
Accepted to Muir college, no EC’s but I work full time also a veteran.
So happy right now and do plan on going to transfer day as I already live in SD!

did you get anything in the mail or did you get an email?

EE major, still pending.

I was accepted online this morning and the mail just came, the packet wasn’t in it. I’m on the northern end of LA county though, so those closer to SD and not yet accepted online might still get a surprise in the mail.

Thanks @jdom24. I’m feeling a little discouraged. I was hoping to get something in the mail today but didn’t receive anything. I’m a Biochemistry major with a 3.86 GPA and tagged for SD…still haven’t received any news yet though :/

I didn’t get any email saying that my status have changed or anything.
Today is 17th so I just logged in and found out.
So, even if you didn’t get email, just check your account.

Good luck! Even if you’re not in first batch, that doesn’t mean you got rejected at all!
It’s pretty random and I guess releasing time depends on tag/non-tag, impacted/non-impacted and probably your major. Again, Congratulation to all who got accepted and best luck to all who’s still waiting! You’ll be just fine.

@ Steffy

I’m sure you and dilapidatedmind are in during the next batch. It seems like they leave the hard sciences (even though some aren’t impacted) until after the social sciences/humanities. They’re known for their bio and chem programs so they probably spend a little more time on those and compare the applicants closely. I wouldn’t sweat too much as you’re tagged to a non-impacted major, it’s just going to suck waiting for the next batch.

@jdom This is what I had rationalized in my head coming up to this weekend, but it still didn’t stop me from getting really excited once the news of the first admissions were out. =/ I guess the majority of us that are Bio or engineering majors will just have to stick it out for a few more weeks.

@ymtti8
Did your status just recently change or were you accepted the first time you checked today? If it was a recent change after having checked a few times, perhaps they’re still releasing decisions throughout the day?
