** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

@jaybyron: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR POST! :’) I called UCSD and they said exactly the same thing like what you posted!
As long as:
1). I pass the 1 math class, 2 english classes,4 courses from the subject areas
2). Have an overall gpa of 3.0
3). Have a gpa of 2.0 for spring quarter
4). Total of 60 quarter units
everything should be good (I hope)
Considering the only downside is my pre-req calc class I think I’m good with the min gpa and quarter units. Such a relief!

@adriecali :open_mouth: hope everything works out for you! i know the feeling of being rescinded…and it’s definitely something I hope to never experience again

if I went to University High School for one semester, Fairfax High School for two separate summer school sessions, and graduated from Van Nuys High School, would I be able to just send only my Van Nuys High School transcript if both University and Fairfax show up on it? My bad about asking this question multiple times but I’m getting different answers for this question. One person from UCSD admissions said I would need all 3 transcripts, but another said I only need one if both Uni and Fairfax show up on the VNHS transcript.

not to mention University High School is now closed for the summer and Van Nuys High School’s offices won’t be open until after the end of July. I was lucky enough to get in contact with the dean of VNHS and have him ask someone to send me my official transcript, but I don’t know if I’ll be lucky with getting all 3 transcripts by July 15th…

just the transcript from the HS you graduated from.

Just curious, but is anyone taking the MPE tomorrow at UCSD? :)

@dostranvia I would…if i was anywhere near ready for it LOL are you taking it tomorrow? if so, good luck! hope you place into the math level you need to get into

@itspat haha thank you! And no, I’m not even close to ready. I was only able to get through 50% of the questions on the practice test before I said forget it cause my laptop broke LOL. But whatever. Haha.

You know we can take it multiple times right?! I was planning on taking it today, see how it goes, and once I get the results see exactly what I need to brush up on. so I don’t stress myself out about it all summer haha.

Any other internationals having a hard time about sending their high school transcripts?

My high school back in Turkey refuses to (directly) send my high school transcripts to UCSD, saying they don’t want to “get involved”. I already mailed them (notarized and translated) and it shows that they received it. But I am pretty unsure if they are going to accept them as “official”.
I called UCSD and the lady on the phone was also unsure , and told me to wait the result of the evaluation process

Any similar experience? or suggestion?

is anyone able to log into the myapplication website? I keep getting “System Error. Please report the following to the Customer Service Representative or call the ACT Help Desk at (858) 534-1853 or (858) 534-3187 (after business hours).” i hope it’s not only me…

@itspat - same here, you’re not the only one

I called college board today to send my ap scores to UCSD and one of my ap scores wasn’t listed. I have scores from 2010, 2009, 2008 and my scores from 2008 aren’t included for some reason. Does anyone know what to do about this? If I fill out a form for archived scores will it only send the lost score to UCSD or will it send all the other scores as well?

Ehh I cancelled my SIR to UCSD. I was going back and forth and extremely torn, but once I saw both schools in person it was surprisingly easy to choose UCI over UCSD. Its a relief to finally know for sure where I’ll be headed this fall.

@raechel You probably have to fill out an archived scores form since your test is most likely over 4 years old. I had to send an archived scores form myself and I’m pretty sure that only the archived score you request will be sent over

@itspat thanks for replying. So do you think I should archive the score from 2008 and then just call and send the other scores that are in their database the normal way?

@raechel yeah that’s what I did. Don’t send archived test scores that are less than a 3 (except AP calculus) because it won’t count + waste of money. Since the deadline is coming up in two weeks, you should send the form through priority mail + delivery confirmation (it’ll be about 6 dollars; in case it gets lost) or if you really want it sent asap, fax. just to be sure, you did call the automated machine and it didn’t mention the 2008 tests right?

@itspat Yeah when I called to send my scores today it listed all the other tests I had taken but it left out my AP Comparative Politics score from 2008. OK so I’m going to fax the archived form to them tomorrow and I’m just gonna call and send in the other AP scores that way. thanks for your help :)

@raechel no problem :)

Anyone sent in their AP scores and have them showing in MyApplication? I sent mine back in late May, but it hasn’t shown up yet. I emailed them and they said it would show up in July, but they did not specify which day (before or after July 15th). I got my confirmation copy in early June, but I’m not sure if it was sent. I haven’t called collegeboard… should I?

I wonder how many ppl on the waitlist got in?
doesn’t seem like many…

Anyone else get this hold on their record? This just means we have to go to advisement before signing up for classes, yes??
