My friends who have last names starting with E and L got into ucsd so its definitely not alphabetical. I think it’s high GPA, non impacted major, and tag who get to hear first.

[ /list][ b]General Comments: If you’re a TAG applicant, according to a former UCSD employee who reviewed applications including TAG transfers, they do not really read your personal statements but they do want you to fill it out, you just don’t have to spend a lot of time on it. This is only for TAG applicants. Good luck to everyone and thank you to everyone for keeping us all in the loop!

I have a friend who is intl’ student got accepted to Muir with 3.8 GPA and a friend who is US citizen to Warren with nearly 3.3 GPA.

I got 3.73, and got nothing. :(

That makes no sense for me.

^mango—but you’re also an engineer-impacted major

@strive101: My friend who has 3.3 GPA apply to Warren and majoring Electrical Engineering EXACTLY like me. She got accepted.

It’s here!

So I emailed UCSD in regards to my situation and fright that I was TAG but wasnt admitted in the first batch even with my GPA… they sent me this…

“Dear Pavin:
We continue to evaluate transfer applications. Decisions for transfer students will be ongoing thru April. Please be patient.
Sincerely,
UCSD Admissions”

Seems like the pretty cut & paste response…

Can anyone chance me please?

@Mango: For an impacted major, you have great stats. I say you shouldn’t worry. Did you friend have UniversityLink or something? 3.3 for ME is really low.

AcousticKitty, my friend has Ulink.

I cannot stop worrying because with the same stats I was rejected by SDSU. :(

I can only hope for the UCSD chance since UCLA and UCB is such a dream.

But how could you be rejected by SDSU? Is your major impacted there? I don’t really know much about your major but I would say that you were in…but rejected? Wow. Call and ask them. Your friend got in UCSD because of ULink…that’s why she heard before you did. Your gpa is great. As long as you tagged (even if you didn’t), id say you have a good shot at UCSD. BREATHE.

I applied to SDSU as Electrical Engineering major too. And now I’m trying to appeal. :(

Just wanted to give a shout out to their admissions staff. They had slightly misspelled my last name so they weren’t getting my FAFSA. I called them, was helped immediately and they were very nice about it :)

@nproudb

I doubt they are in alphabetical order based on last name. Although I haven’t tagged, my last name does start with an A, and still no news from SC, SD, or even SB. I’m pretty sure that statement they made in our email notifications/updates is untrue lol.

@LAladyy: You mean SDSU staff ?

I have recently called the SDSU Admission and they told me that there was nothing wrong with my application and also I have TAG to SDSU. They said that I’m eligible to get in but I was still rejected so the only reason here is the SDSU admission is very competitive blah blah blah.

Non sense !

I meant UCSD. Sorry didn’t see the posts above were mentioning SDSU!

@mango, I have a 3.9-4.0 with over 60 units, IGETC, and prereqs, and was still rejected from Cal Poly. A few weeks later I was accepted into UCSD. Just stay patient and I’m sure you’ll get into at least one of your schools.
