2013 Duchossois Leadership Scholarship - applications being accepted

<p>Applications for the 2013 Duchossois Leadership Scholarships are being accepted until December 1, 2012. The program seeks outstanding students from across the country who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential and academic success in their projected field.</p>

<p>One of the unique aspects of this program is the close mentoring relationship that Duchossois Leadership Scholars have with the Duchossois Leadership Professors throughout their time at Illinois Institute of Technology.</p>

<p>Duchossois Leadership Scholars will receive the following scholarship benefits to allow them to attend and participate in leadership and academic activities at Illinois Institute of Technology:</p>

<p>Full Tuition—Duchossois Leadership Scholars will be provided a full-tuition scholarship for undergraduate study at IIT for up to four years, provided they maintain the criteria of the scholarship; or for up to five years for students pursuing a joint B.S./M.S. program or another baccalaureate degree program that normally requires five years to complete.</p>

<p>Room and Board Allowance—Duchossois Leadership Scholars will be provided with support to cover 100 percent of their meal plans and housing on Main Campus.</p>

<p>Summer Educational Experience—Duchossois Leadership Scholars will take part in a fully funded educational experience each summer after the students' first, second, and third years at IIT. Summer educational experiences may be led by one of the Duchossois Leadership Professors and could include an international experience, a community or government service experience, a summer internship with a corporate entity, or another leadership and service activity designed by a Duchossois Leadership Professor.</p>

<p>Students applying to the Duchossois Leadership Scholars Program must complete a special application and the finalists will be asked to participate in an on-campus interview. Each year, two or three entering first-year students will be selected to be Duchossois Leadership Scholars; the selection will emphasize students from different disciplines and areas of interest. The program is open to undergraduate students who are United States citizens or permanent residents.</p>
