**2013 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

oh god, its showing the error message again! :(

@vam

I called the office that deals with the cal grants and asked them the same question around a month ago. The lady told me that the school you have under college of attendance acts as a “placeholder” for the moment until you receive your award. Once you have received the cal grant award then your allowed to change the school to whichever school you are registered too.

Admission decision received by mail 4/8: Accepted

GPA: 3.45
TAG: No
EC: Not much really
Honors Courses
Major: Political Science
Will attend Transfer Admit Day!

Does anyone know when they will release another batch?

Itaylapid: I applied and got accepted as well. I don’t want to go there though :stuck_out_tongue:
But UCSB doesn’t have a film major either, it’s just a film studies major which is completely different

@Psyschool, I would assume it would be this week but I’ve heard of people getting it all the way until the end of April! Keep checking your mailbox though. I assumed it would be by email but they sent it in the mail. It was cute lol

So it let me create a triton cash card and said it would be activated within 24 hours, I used the PID they gave me to check my application. Could be a good sign?

Idk when I got accepted but I found out on April 10th.

when i go to Housing Application. It shows “Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact The Village Residential Services Office at 858-534-9380 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 6pm.” goshhhh. Is this a bad sign?? :frowning: :(

I would imagine you need to be admitted before you can fill out the Housing Application. I got accepted to UCI and to fill it out I must say that yes, UCI is my choice - and so I haven’t been able to reserve a spot since I’m still waiting to hear from UCSD. I’m assuming your decision is still pending?

I’ve been checking the UCSD site and my email practically every hour since I heard from UCI last week, it’s driving me nuts! “Late April” is so vague.

@summerhope13

That’s interesting, are you a TAG? I have a ulink guarantee and I used to have that message but it changed to what I posted a few posts back.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1135889-ucsd-trick-statistics-7.html</a></p>

From the above thread, it looks like people began seeing changes in their message at different times, and those who had a change were accepted in the next batch. Anyone else have a change in their message?

Interesting. We may have a new indicator here.

So to recap, people are now getting one of the two following messages when they log on to the “my application” portal and click on “Housing” -> “Housing Application”:

“Our records indicate that your admissions status will not allow you to proceed with this Housing Application process for the term indicated. Please contact The Village Residential Services Office at 858-534-9380 during our normal weekday office hours of 8am to 6pm.”

or

“The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu.”

Check out post #683 and #684, and now check out #693. 60221023 (that’s his/her user name is) had their housing application message change from the first one above (what summerhope13 is getting). Mine is also like the second one. Screenshot below. Can some more people check this and report back please? Thanks.

Edit: @60221023 Posted this before I saw your post above. Yeah, looks like we got something here.

Oh I see, I have the same thing summerhope13 has. Now I’m worried ><

@HokumPeddler do you have a TAG or high stats?

@60221023 I do not have a TAG, and I’m a 3.88 GPA neuroscience applicant with all pre-reqs done.

I looked at that “trick” thread that you linked, and unfortunately there are no reports from people who were rejected. We know people were getting different messages back in 2011, but there is no data there about what rejected people were getting. Nothing to go on really.

@HokumPeddler

Yes, while there were was no relation between rejection and a changed housing message, it seems that everyone in the thread with a changed message was later accepted.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1100819-ucsd-acceptance.html</a></p>

Looking at the above thread also suggests that a changed message leads to acceptance. Do a search for ‘housing message’ for the relevant posts. I also gathered from the thread that messages that didn’t change weren’t necessarily indicative of rejection, as some were admitted without a changed message.

^Oh wow. Yeah, that thread is certainly more telling. Thanks… and congrats? haha

Haha yes it is, but I’m still not going to take this as a definitive answer. The message itself somewhat contradicts what we suspect the message means haha.

But in the case that this means what we think it means, congrats to you too, I guess we’ll find out pretty soon anyways.

housing message change since yesterday. tag+neuroscience

I cant even check because it’s past 12am lol :(
