2013 Hopkins Hopefuls!!

Hey future Hopkins hopefuls!
I've just finished applying to JHU and I am wondering who else has too?
Let me know if you've applied ED/RD, or if you've already heard back - and what you plan to study or anything else you might want to add.

For example...
I applied ED. I plan on studying either biology or international relations, and I also plan on swimming in college.

I'm applying RD about to submit my app! I want to do BME (hopefully I'll get into the major) and I might do some piano stuff in college.

Awesome! Anyone else?

probably gonna do research at JHU for radiosurgery techniques used in neurosurgery... probably play varsity basketball... wanna do BME... but will try to get neuroengineering while in BME (even though its graduate...)

I applied ED... want to major in math. I eventually go into medical school, but I am definitely majoring in math, and maybe/probably a double major. This wait is killer.. I want to get in so badly, love JHU! Go blue jays!

^^word big bird... ED JHU GO BLUE JAYS!!!

I applied ED for CHE, but I really want to studying in their Biomolecular Engineering Program. I also considered applying for the dual degree program with Peabody. My saxophone teacher went there for his masters, and says there is the most amazing jazz saxophone teacher, Gary Thomas. Sadly between PSEO, college apps, and the overwhelming battle between math, science, and music, I didn't really find the time to prepare for an audition. Maybe in the future...

I'm applying RD, but I looove Hopkins. I want to do cognitive neuroscience. :D

anyone know if there is a way for us to check our app status online?

They don't have online tracking system, you have to call them 410-516-8171. They would love to give you status over phone, they are very nice.

WantIvy-I'm in the same category-pre-med, (or dental), but math major. I find your name a bit ironic, though-if you want to go to the Ivy League so much, why apply ED to a non-Ivy?
I'm RD, by the way.

Haha, I knew someone would ask this. I made this when I first joined the site and had aspirations for Penn. Obviously, this was well before I got to "know", and love, Hopkins. My Penn aspiration was baseless and based on false terms (prestige, etc.). Good thing I came to my senses about Hopkins after visiting, overnight, etc. I love the school, and the programs are amazing! Hopkins > any college, now.

Pretty much, it was just a premature name :P I was naive about the college admissions (coming from a small town and a not-so-good public high school). Hopefully, though, we'll see each other as math majors at Hopkins next year!

Another hopeful here. Wanna do pre med and major in bio, neuroscience or maybe math. Besides, I LOVE capoeira and JHU actually has an active capoeira club. Woot!

^^^ Funny you mention Capoeira..

One of the times I visited (open house, I think), I believe that group/club was dancing (ritualizing? :P) outside on the grass. I actually stopped and watched for a few minutes--seemed very interesting!!

lol it wasn't a ritual! I hope...

i applied...but im pretty sure ill get in :)

I hope you don't get in, jerk. >:[

Jk, we're all in this together. Gl! :]

I hope we all get in. JHU is my dream school sigh

i applied RD a few weeks ago.... but hopefully BME alhtough i wont be worried if i dont get in. and ill definitely do violin as well but not in the double degree

applied RD today. i really like Hopkins, but it's soo expensive. I applied as BME (doubt i'll get in) or chemical & biomolecular as my second choice major. i plan to take a pre-med track too. if i get rejected i'll be paranoid that it was because i applied BME as my first-choice major.
