What schools have a small freshmen class?

You would have to look at other BS besides the most frequently mentioned. I know of some but like I said I don’t think it is worth the time to look up all the schools. There might be a way to look that up on boarding school review.

Hmm. I suppose that there are some schools that might do that. I’m not aware of any.

As you said, the most frequently mentioned ones are the ones that I was basing my statements off of.

Am sad to learn that one of my son’s classmates is not returning next year. That is called “attrition”. However, this kid was a wonderfully active at the school, in academics, swimming and orchestra, to say the least. The decision not to come back was voluntary, for personal reasons. Among a graduating class of 77 in 2014, the yearbook is reporting eleven kids who withdrew along the way. I suspect that most of these eleven were voluntary withdrawals, i.e., non-disciplinary and non-academic, and believe grx’s point about “loss of income, divorce, etc.” is on the money. Even if schools reported an “attrition rate”, it would be very hard to get an accurate reading on how much this should reflect upon the individual school, particularly in the current era of economic uncertainty and educational price inflation.
